I'm never in favor of bringing in high profile, highly paid WRs. Historically most of them have jumped around a lot once they leave their original team. They are often prima donnas that want the ball all the time and become a disruption to the team. Owens, Moss and Beckham immediately come to mind but I'm I know there are others that move to a new team and play well for one season and then move again. Teams don't let talented guys like that leave for no reason.

Allen Robinson and Julio Jones also come to mind. But I think the receivers are good right now, there's no need to add.

The only WR I can think of that's went to a new team and gelled well is Stefan diggs. I'm sure there are more but that's the only one I can think of off the top of my head that has been somewhere for a while and haven't caused
any problems.
It does seem true that's WRs are the ones that are primeadonnas
Brandin cooks has had success everywhere but has moved around a lot. Randy moss, TO, Chad Johnson, etc.
even adams already seems unhappy and it's been one year in Vegas.

Just as a Niners fan, Rice and Owens come to mind. Last year Adam's gelled with the Raiders.

Rice was an exception and was also way at the end of his career when he went to the Raiders. Then Seattle and Denver. He didn't have a huge impact at any of thise teams. Owens had success in Philly and Dallas but he was also a constant disruption.

He helped the Raiders get to the Super Bowl. Pretty decent impact IMO. Should have been 2 of them if not for the league changing the rules for Brady.

AJ Brown. Tyreek Hill led league in yards last year I believe or was leading up til Tuas concussions. That's just last year alone

Well I guess I meant for a good amount of time. Most guys were at a team for 1-3 years before moving on. Rice is different cause I guess he was just old by the time he moved on but yeah, he did well with the raiders. That's 20+ years ago though, so it seems to be a rare thing

Yeah but those are all 1 year things. So I'm curious how it's going in year 3.
i don't want to trade quality resources such a players or picks for a guy who won't be here for a longer period. I'd rather resign a guy like Aiyuk instead of putting him jeopardy by bringing in a guy like Hopkins, even though he's a great player.
plus, these days we don't seem to be struggling to find quality WR. Our team has done a really good job of bringing in guys and developing them. Getting quality play out of guys like Bourne, Aiyuk, Deebo, Jennings etc

Boldin is a solid one.
im not talking about performing well. That's only part of it. I mean where they don't cause new problems and stay there for longer than 3 seasons.
usually when really good WRs force their ways off a team. They tend to not go anywhere and stick around longer than 2-3 seasons and are throwing tantrums.
a lot have left somewhere and had really good seasons but I'm talking about a great WR who left his team and stayed at another team. For 5-6 seasons and became a great culture fit and performed.

I love MM and all, but he doesn't know s**t about what the 49ers will do, or how the rooks will look, I won't be surprised if all 9 picks make the team.
