Sus is right. I see all of these explosive offenses all around the league. Packers, cardinals, chiefs, bills, titans, saints, seahawks. We have had 4 years. And this is the result.

Offense was quite explosive last year. Gee, I wonder what the difference was.

*Checks IR skill players so far in 2020*

Oh yeah.

Offense wasn't explosive. They scored 20 in the superbowl. 89 niners. 95 niners. Those were explosive offenses.

4th in pts, 2nd in yds...not the 1995 or 1989 49ers but damn good.

as long as we keep aa. that is all that matters

Well we are going to have serious growing pains on defense next season. Losing your DC, position coaches, and players will make things very difficult to maintain a top 10 defense that we have had the last two seasons. Likely falling back to 15 - 25 in total defense unless they can hit on some low budget options.

They'll need to make it up with better scoring on offense.

On the other hand, Bosa alone will make a huge difference on defense. A defense with Bosa, Warner, Verrett, Kinlaw - that defense will have some really good games.

Hopefully but we not sure how he will look coming off the injury. And are we sure that we will have JV on this defense next year?

My guess is Sherman leaves for wherever Saleh goes or he goes back to Seattle and we bring back Verrett. Verrett and Moseley as the starting CB's.

No guarantee, but if SF wants Verrett I think he'll return since they kept with him through another lost season before he got healthy this year.

We might not be able to afford Verrett at the pace he's playing at. He could command $10-15 million a season if he stays healthy the rest of the way.

That Jimmy Ward deal will continue to haunt us until he's gone.

Ford and Richburg moves get them 35 mil. Move Jimmy and it's close to 60. But yes salary cap hell.

Troll better

Gonna be a tough market for players with less than half the teams with any cap room.

No one is paying 15 mil for Jason Verrett. Vast majority of teams won't be spending money until they know how Covid will shake out.

Verrett is looking at 2 years 12 tops.

He's playing like a top 15 CB. Teams always overpay CB's just like QB's. I think he's going to give us a fair shake but it's in his best interest to take the biggest deal he can.

Jags, Jets, Colts, Pats, Washington all have 50+ million to spend next year and that's before the roll over cap from 2020.

He aint trolling if he's right...

Ford saves you 4 million because his dead cap hit is high. Weston saves you 3 million because his dead cap hit is high. Jimmy saves you roughly 23 million. Total is around 30 million for all three and you will need a new QB and C on top of it.

Not sure how he's reading the cap hits but dumping salary in today's NFL results in dead cap if there is guaranteed money left.
