Why do we need an aging safety looking to get paid when we got younger ones who aren't bad?

Because he's much better than what we have.

Reality will set in for him when nobody pays him what he's looking for. That said, he's not signing up to be the backup to Ward.

Donald or no Donald, if we see Bucko being a better player, then we should have paid him.. Indy feels that way, they agree to go 21 million thinking that Bucko is only hitting his prime..

Indy didn't already have what we had invested in the Dline, not even close. They needed to pay a king's ransom to shore up the position, which ultimately cost them a top 15 pick and huge dolla bills. After the trade, I would say we still have the better D-line with Bosa, Ford, AA, and Jones.

Armstead over Buckner... yeah, right.

That's not what happened tho.

More like :

Armstead + Ward + 13th pick in a great draft over Buckner

Easy choice.
Buckner was THE cornerstone of this defense. Not AA, not Ward.

Man he has really screwed up this offseason.

Re-signing the two players he should have let walk. Trading the best player on defense. And then keeping an injured RB who won't see the field.
the Ward contract is very reasonable. On top of that, finding a safety who suits our defense, is very difficult.
AA on the other hand...

???

The guy who made his first pro bowl this year that didn't require other players backing out? You forgetting Nick Bosa the DROY is alive or something?

After all moves, except knowing Shon Coleman and Ronald Blair III's 1yr terms, I have us at $15,042,585 under the cap.

With that much left, gotta think some of that will be given to FA WR. We still need to add another pass rusher.

Let's update it for you...

Armstead + Ward + 13th pick in a great draft + salary cap space to sign other players this year and next over Buckner.

The Texans Hopkins trade is being called a disaster but the reason they only got so little was due to Hopkins' demands to be paid like Michael Thomas. When guys have these huge contract demands sometimes teams have tough decisions to make.

Buck is getting 1.5 mil less per season than Aaron Donald. Has he been playing up to that level? As good as he's been the answer is no.

Indy has to try to stop the freight train from Tennessee they get to face twice a year.

the guy was standing out every season in despite of being surrounded by garbage.
Bosa won't do s**t if his d-liner won't do s**t. apparently you have never watched Justin Smith playing, right?

That's not accurate.

His value for us determines the price. he is the most consistent and, imho, best defensive player on this squad for years. and he is playing at a very high level.
AA is a one year wonder so far.
Ward, I can get that one.

Kittle will take a chunk of that, but still in great shape.
