So is Mike Shanahan completely out of the league? I feel like his last shot at making a return would be now. I think he should get a role as vice president or something along that line.

Covers so much.

  • 49er brought him in as a consultant and he was brutally honest with them and their drama
  • Consultant became a hire
  • Understands limitations
  • Carries credibility around the league
  • THEY had to convince HIM of the job

Katie Nolan is still unlikable.

Let's surround him with experience please. The same way Warriors surrounded Kerr with experienced coaches.

Can't compare football to basketball lol.

Lynch: Tom Gamble has a ton of experience in this business. I'd be a fool not to soak that up. #49ers

LMFAO. I experience this at my job. You are more qualified than your new superior and half your time is spent explaining your job to him/her in hopes s/he can retain it. Ass backwards.

Do they not respect your spreadsheet making abilities?
So just got back home and see that some were freaking out because twitter reports said Lynch would have control of the 53 man roster. LOL. Some of you guys would die without twitter.

There was no way that Shanahan wasnt going to have control of the 53 man roster. This is HIS team and he chose the GM that he wanted to work with. This should be obvious.

Okay...

He's the trigger man.

So Lynch, I mean paraag, I mean Domink, I mean Gamble, I mean Shanahan, I mean Lynch will have the trigger.

I know shanny will be the face of the team. Lynch will be the guiding force. Gamble will get them players and Domink will help with homework.

I wonder when the friction with Paraag will start? 🤔

He hired the coach and then he hired the GM and Jed has been saying that getting along is the priority this time around so I would expect Paraag to get along with his underlings in football ops.

you're 100% right, we should wait and see if its a good hire or not. I know one thing, he already won something in my eyes, he told Jed & his puppet not to talk to media about it & they listened. That's more than I can say for anyone else. I also think with this hiring that Jed wants to step away from anything football and that's always a plus.

  • 1st Bold - I'm sure Kyle (in an unofficial capacity), had something to say about any leaks to the Media as well ...
  • 2nd Bold - Recall if you will, the early reports that The Real owner(s) of the 49ers, were going have more input ??? therefore, IFTFY "I also think with this hiring that Jed has been told to get it right, whatever it takes, and then step away from anything directly football related ...

One can only hope, with regard to the 2nd bold though
John Lynch affect everybody. Elway giving his buddy an early hand. I'm getting more and more pumped from all the things I have seen and read about this hire. I'm willing to give this some time guys.

Just got off phone with #49ers GM finalist Terry McDonough, who had interesting things to say about the process.

http://www.csnbayarea.com/49ers/49ers-gm-finalist-lynch-shanahan-have-matching-drives-succeed
That was a great read. Thanks for posting that. Very classy comments from McDonough.

Very interesting article. Complete opposite of "butt-hurt" as far as his response. Sounds like McDonough really wanted to be a part of the organization, but has great respect for Lynch and enough class to congratulate instead of tear down the guy who beat him out. Good stuff.

Odd that he was so impressed by Paraag.

There was nothing else he could say.... dude still wants to be a GM.

This would be great. Maybe Lynch reputation will cancel out some of Jed's bad juju around the league.

Asked if he reports to Paraag Marathe, John Lynch says he reports to Jed York.

Like that

That is odd considering Marathe runs Football Operations, there must be a dotted line reporting structure to Marathe.
