They were apparently neighbors. Willis once had crutches and was having trouble with some bags. His new buddy helped him out without being a fanboy, so Willis liked that.

Unfortunately it happens a lot. People think players only go broke from spending their money on cars and jewelry, but a lot of times, it's from things like this where they're TRYING to use their money wisely.
