Classless news from a classless, irrelevant organization.

For those unhappy with it, I'd ask...who else should've won the award? Kap went through a lot in 2016...recovering from multiple surgeries, steadily progressing as the starting QB under Kelly. Raised inequality issues which garnered more attention on them. Since the Eshmont Award is voted on by the players, it's also a testament they want him back in 2017. I really have no problem with Kap getting the award.

I think it's the same people.
Some bashed Kaepernick for playing well and winning a game.
Some bashed Kaepernick for thinking about continuing his education (something some players do in the offseason through out the NFL)
Some bashed Kaepernick for winning a prestigious award, voted by his teammates (the teammates that these same people swore hated Kaepernick)
Some bashed Kaepernick for "stealing" the QB starting job and taking the team to the SuperBowl...lol.
so if Kaepernick is being bashed for doing this like that ^
really makes you wonder.

Now that Hyde is out, Kap is by far the only thing worth watching on this s**tshow. Glad he got the award, especially after people were talking about it dividing the locker room at the beginning of the year.

Wait I thought the locker room was divided, howd that happen? The pro Kap side got more votes? Lol the anti Kap strawman arguement, deflecting and changing the narrative crowd are mad as hell and I love it.

The thread question is what we thought of it. Some of us said we don't care. Somehow not caring is turning into non equality, racist, kkk, southern democrats, aaaahhhhhhhhhh
Soon, maybe another year we can move on from the non defense reading, preoccupied, average after the first read, non fade throwing, late throwing, inaccurate militant QB we got right now.

Exactly. Spin it, spin it again, and again. When that doesn't work pull the race card

A note on the poll: I'm not sure that Len Eshmont fought in WWII. I believe he mainly ran physical training/football in Navy pre-flight schools. This is not to diminish his service, but the award is probably more to honor his toughness while on the original 49ers than with what else he did in life. So, IMO the award is more a reflection on who is inspirational to a year's team than it is a gold standard across all seasons.
