chip getting a jab in on the way out? no one was more excited about the drive then to go for the win instead of OT.

Sure I want that #1 pick, but when the team is rolling and the juices are flowing, man that win feels good.

Of course being in control of the draft so to speak would have been great. But from what I understand, we still have a shot at number 1 overall. Also, whether we draft first or second, I think we are in a great spot. Now the real danger is if we win next week.
Even if we win, aren't we assured the #2 given SOS and Jacksonville winning.

I was rooting to get that #1 pick but when Robinson got the int and his teammates swormed him at the end, that 2nd win meant a lot to those guys. Winning cures everything. It'll be great if we can get a win against the seacawks next week and spoil their 1st rd bye

Yeah I kind of feel that way but I have also been leaning towards taking a QB anyways so I guess that kind of solidifies this unless we can find that trade partner

Yup. Honestly, I would have preferred the draft positioning but winning does have some value to the younger guys we're trying to develop. Great to see Robinson step up and make a play to seal the win. That's something he's going to build off of.

Baalke would have picked Chad Kelly and his limp #1 anyway.
This way there is no pressure.
Browns pick Garrett, we go QB Tribuisky.
Browns go QB we go Garrett.
Things work out the way they are supposed too.
Who knows, maybe Pittsburg lays down next week.
I'm more afraid that Jed will see this win as the team moving in the right direction and decide to stay the course.

Ghost and Chas ,
Glad you both see the BIG PICTURE. A loss would have given the Niners a 10 year All-Pro OLB , but most of these clowns are jumping up and down over a WIN over a s**t team. Kap all of a sudden becomes Joe w 8 minutes left in the game and costs us the # 1 pick. I've never rooted so hard against us in my 67 YEARS , even when I cheered Joe ( KC ) beating Steve.
On a more positive side , Trent Brown is the MAN , since his first six plays against Atlanta and Vic Beasley last year, then sent to the bench for 8 more games until the s**t for brains coaching staff decided to play him the final two games of the year , he's been outstanding. Today they decide to give him his first shot at the most important spot on the OL , left tackle , against arguably the best front 7 in the league. He ended up with the HIGHEST grade on the entire team from PFF
One last observation , the 49ers are , IMO , in better shape going forward than the Rams , they squandered a ton of draft picks for Goff , no OL , Gurley looks lost; hope I'm right.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all 49er fans.

I was hoping for the 1st pick. Not just for the first round, but the first pick of each round after that. I worry that Cleveland has similar needs to us and hold a pick just before us. Any trade we want to do, they can do one spot better with out breaking into their multiple early picks. I want Garrett, but I also would be happy with any of the top QBs if they show up really well in the off season. The 2nd pick overall is not a bad place to be. Things just looked that much easier with the first pick and not having to worry about what Cleveland might do every round in front of us.
