After 3 heartbreaking playoff losses to the Cowboys in the Brodie years, when I was a kid, I ignored the Niners Sucky 70's teams thru middle and high school. Woke up in 81 when they knocked off the steelers and Cowboys during the regular season.
I stuck with the team true thru Erickson and Nolan and Singletary.
This team though, it's like they don't even have a clue.
Now back to my regularly scheduled life.

There's only 16 games in a NFL season and the offseason is so long. I'll always watch no matter what because before you know it the season is over

A few weeks ago, I was at that point.... very uninterested in watching this team.
But now..... s**t, we are on a 3 game winning streak! And by that I mean, for 3 games now we've shown improvement and been competitive while staying on track for a high draft pick.
3 weeks ago I thought we were 10-15 quality starters away from even competing. Now, I'm thinking quality starters at WR, TE, ILB, NT, and OLB may be all it takes to return to relevance.

Been a hard season for sure. Sad to say the forums are reflecting the mood of many of us. Saw people backing the 9ers more than this even in '04. Jed has broken the spirit of the faithful.

Going to say 2004. That team was putrid, last in every category of every kind. That was the first and only season in which I didn't willingly watch that was on TV. This team is really awful, but at least can score some points and has been in 4-5 of the games it has lost. The 2004 team won both its games in overtime, and got blown out in just about every other one.

I been thinking of starting a similiar thread .. Someone mentioned this thread is a contradiction since you're here starting the thread.
A lot of ppl captured my thoughts, been a die hard since I can remember but have not watched a full game this year since the Cowboys game.
But for some of us reading articles on the zone was a go to everyday around work, lunch breaks. now I visit the site maybe Saturday's to see what's been going on. I actually post more stuff about the lakers now.
Missing the crap out of those 4 years of harbuagh, road trips to teams stadiums was the highlight knowing they were going to kick some butt, but now it's totally gone.

2004 was bad. Rattay was actually good but Dorsey and Pickett were aweful The defense was very bad that year too, worse talent than this team for sure. 2016 49ers is definitely 2nd as far as being uninterested. It went downhill for me when Bow went out. 2015 3rd.

I used to be so pumped for games that my heart would be pounding at kickoff. A loss would send me in a tail-spin for a couple of days. Used to re-watch every game throughout the week while on the treadmill or bike, one quarter a day. Lasted about 45 minutes a day per quarter and then post game on Fridays. Kept my blood pressure in check for game days. I was screwed times when the vcr timer failed.
Like others on here, now I don't know who we are even losing to the following week. I'll turn on the game and dvr it but make sure I have something else to do while it's background noise.
I think it's more habit than anything this year. No Walsh or 49er greats around to learn from or lean on in the organization. AT least none Jed apparently ask for advice from.

Fine. So why don't you boycott this place as well? And watch the language.

2004 was worse for me. We had the talent level of an expansion franchise that year and that's a polite way of putting it.
That team was lucky to avoid 0-16.
