Is Cam Newton the NFL's MVP so far this season? :http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2015/10/is_cam_newton_the_nfls_mvp_so.html
Brady, Rodgers have company: Cam Newton for MVP?: http://nypost.com/2015/10/19/brady-rodgers-have-company-cam-newton-for-mvp/
This is why I pay very little attention to the media lol. They're all crazy.
There is really only 1 MVP candidate right now and it's Tom Brady.
Rivers would be in the discussion if his team was winning games. He's been carrying a bad offense that can't run the ball. It's unfortunate that he just lost Keenan Allen and their defense has let him down so often.
Freeman is having a great year, but not a historic year where a RB can win MVP. Gurley is off to an awesome start, but the missed games will probably prevent him from winning even if he puts up 100 yards per game on the season and the Rams make the playoffs.
Newton has been clutch this year and has been carrying a bad offense with his legs and his arms. The argument for him is that he makes the rest of his team better (obvious in the running game where defenses have to spy him). Their offense is overachieving with him at QB. He's been playing really well, but hasn't been efficient enough to win MVP (part of that is on his receivers for not getting open or catching the ball).
Rivers has everything but the wins and Newton has everything but the efficiency rating, but by default, the MVP is Tom Brady who is leading the league in passer rating (despite a lot of drops and an interception that bounced off Edelman's hands), yards per game, and TD's, and leading the top offense in the league on an undefeated team. The media will always produce articles like those even if there is no real debate, because people will read them.
