There will probably be some good veteran T's cut when it comes time for teams to make cuts in order to get to the 53 man roster.
It would be good to grab a vet that can back up both spots without needing a ton of practice reps.

Well, the good news is Wesley Johnson did play really well at C and he's backing up Garland. I zeroed in on Ross Reynolds too. They have him at LG for some reason but he certainly has some tools for zone blocking and looked good too. Willie Beavers looks about 340 pounds but as a veteran, slid over to T from G in the pinch and did admirably. Everybody else looked...like 3rd string players.

^^^hope you aren't complaining NCommand. Beavers, RR, and Wes Johnson played well enough....and we have been looking at bare cupboards. Man, 3 guys that show something, even against 2s and 3s....sounds like music to my ears. Altho i didn't isolate on too many guys, the OL appeared to being doing ok against subs. I was expecting a lot worse. The DL , tho, that bunch of rotational guys....coulda fooled me as starters. Wow they looked good. Dallas' OL...wish i knew when they went out...was it with Dak? I suppose so and he just played that first series.
Last yr we had no subs...just our 5 guys on OL. This yr i hope for better. And since Hurd and Deebo are in there, JimmyG will be getting the ball gone way faster than last yr....what? You don't believe that line? Well, anyway, we got 3 guys who played well so no complaints here.

I look at games like this very carefully. On D, Dallas was missing both edge rushers. On O, Zeke. That's going to make both our lines look better.

Sounds reassuring

Shanahan said the team is looking at the list of available swing tackles -- including former 49er Garry Gilliam -- and likely will add someone to the roster on Monday.

This OBVIOUSLY means we're trading for Trent Williams you can see the proof it's right there!

Then you could rail Lynch for overpaying for him and "hope" he would play better in year 2 after going to a hockey game.
When Lynch invests in the OL, top 10 pick + top FA interior OL + traded for a starting OG and a backup swing tackle, he gets s**t on. When he does not spend a 4th round pick on an OG to be named never, he gets s**t on. He can do no right no matter what.
Very true, we were not thin at tackle at all. We had a solid back up we cannot predict he was going to get injured. So the fault of the front office does not hold any water when people make that argument. As far as the guard position goes? Yeah we could've gotten a better guard

Didn't beavers look horrendous? Maybe he is a decent guard as a back up

He was not good. But because of his size, held up well in PP. His weight looks sloppy too.

We don't want good OL...just cheap serviceable bodies.

If he held up in pass protection that's pretty much all I care about. Who had the 3 holding penalties? Run blocking is very important but seems to be less important as the years go by so I'm good with it
I miss kwame Harris
