Person should be around for a few years if he can sustain his play. I wouldn't be surprised if Erik Magnuson develops into a starting player in the future. This system has a long track record of developing OL.
Staley is the only question mark moving forward.
I'm so happy I could

True. Short yardage and goal line and consistent PP are the areas this group needs to grow in. I don't have expectations for 8-9 in the box as this isn't a power OL.
As Beathard gets better, the OL will get better because teams can't load the box in short yardage situations.
After last night, teams may give Beat more respect.

Breida's 6.8 YPA leads the league in rushing.
Richburg has been the weak link in run blocking. Still doesn't quite have the timing down it seems. He is strong enough. Just not quite hitting the target right.

That's what I was saying last year when guys were losing their minds about the Oline.
Having a competant QB who gets rid of the ball on time and knows the D masks alot ot deficiencies on the Oline.
The days of Kaepernick running around in circles in the pocket and taking sacks are over.

Agree
They'd be really foolish if they didn't

Check this article out about our OLine.

This should make us all feel better.
BTW, McG was the right pick and kudos to JL/KS for making it.
The Raiders would have snatched him up w/the next pick if we didn't get him.

Mike Person has been such a steal. Honestly suffers the blow of Garnett just sitting in the shadows.

Dude was our 3rd option at G. He's solidified the whole right side. We better resign him today and not let him test FA like Fusco and lose him.

yeah back when we signed him, many of us didn't even think he would make the team. I hope they give him an extension as well, before season's end.

I'm so happy I could
But beware: there is a major test looming this week.
I keep thinking about the first Rams game last season--Tomlinson's first game as a 9er--when he stonewalled Aaron Donald the entire game til the end, when Donald moved to the other side and promptly beat Fusco for a sack that ended the game. There's hope this season despite the challenge. imho

And for the love of the football gods, please get some depth. Make sure Gilliam never plays here again.
agreed, right now is perfect time to see what we have in Coleman.

Certainly. We still need a top-notch LT so once we get that, the Brown topic can die (he was ours). I'd still take Norwell in a heartbeat but overall, I'm really proud of the individual and unit growth. We still need legit depth but these same 5 have been getting better and better.
True...great test this w/e. Conversely, the Rams OL is legit as is their running game. This is one running unit that actually can beat our 1,200 pounds of beef up front.
