in an ideal draft....a Puni clone....
We could use above average mobility, and a guy who multi tasks like Puni does.
Puni is not always perfect, but he often selfless, and thinks big picture.
If we had two or three mobile, highly functional multi taskers right in the middle of the o-line it would change everything. Even if we could get just one more at center, and a stout run blocker at LG it could be game changing.
Hell...i am still holding out hope on Nugent TBH... guy looked like a real maybe the brief amount of time we saw him. At this point, they might as well give him some burn...I don't think popular perception is center could get much worse.
Believe he tried some time at center earlier in his career and didn't look good

We need to go after a C in FA, a RT in the draft and look to plug a gap at LG whether it's another draft pick, a cheap vet, or someone already on the roster who can step up.
Idk he can't even play the entire season and plays through injury every game. That can have an affect on older vets
Young players can't get through the entire season or play through injuries either.
Injuries happen.
Trent won't want this season to be it. He'll be back.

He doesn't care if this is his last, he held out knowing it could jeopardize the season and it has. He wanted one more big pay day before wrapping it up

Look at the best 2 teams in the NFC this year the Lions and Eagles have arguably the 2 best lines. They had a stat from Barkley big game the other night were he had like 220 yards before contact. Heck our old coach has tuned around the Chargers and everybody thought he should draft a wr but what does he do but grab the best lineman in the draft.
The best 2 teams since 2019 has been the chefs and 49ers
Just cause we have an injury plagued year doesn't erase that
The Chiefs have won 3 Super Bowls , I would not put us as one of the 2 best o lines durning that span the Eagles line is better during that span but this year doesn't matter if we had injuries or not we are nowhere close to the top.If we don't make it a priority going forward we will never get back to the top.

I said teams, you don't need the top OL. The team that has the top OL hasn't won in like 7+ years?

You can same the same thing for D line the tops has not won either might not need to be the top but you need to be near the top.

Spend the whole draft on OL.
The line obsessed fans should try being Cowboys fans. The Cowboys "invest" in their o-line constantly. Jerry Jones is obsessed with it.
By the way, back when they were actually winning Super Bowls and had lines regarded as top units, did you know not a single starter of theirs was a 1st round draft pick?

He looks like he should've been starting over Brendel all along. Forester should be fired.

The best teams in the NFL right now have elite offensive lines. The 49ers have chosen to do the opposite and invest in skill positions. It has failed miserably.

Either that, or Forester got distracted by all the white powder falling from the sky and wasn't doing much coaching tonight.

Bartch and Moore appear to be good backups going forward (after this year). Aside from Puni, and Trent for another year, the line needs a complete overhaul
