Haha. Touche'

I guess we could go back further but the mobile QB and passing league has really blown up the past 3 years so trying to capture the most current. Even the formula (winning the trenches) has existed since football was first invented.

No doubt winning in the trenches is as important as anything else when it comes to winning a SB. Injuries, penalties, turnovers and momentum all play a role in the outcome as well.

If TW comes into the NFCCG healthy, do we win?

If the defense doesn't get called for 3 penalties, 2 of which were 15 yarders which all occured on 3 of the rams 4 scoring drives, do they still gain the momentum that propelled them to the win?

Do the missed turnover opportunities for the defense not play a role in losing the game?

Do the missed opportunities by the QB not play a role in losing that game?

Sure PP started to come undone on the last 2 drives but it just seems like a copout to blame the PP for not winning that game and onto winning the SB. As it takes an entire team to win. It is not a stretch to say that if any 1 of those 4 questions that I asked happened to play out in our favor that we would have won instead losing a 3 point game, inspite of the rams having a top ranked O line.
Also doesn't help when kittle tackles our own RT on short yardage plays

What rank did you give them going into the playoffs in 2019.

Both are to start each season and both note the injuries. How do you grade them higher than that to start?

They don't run.

16. KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
The Chiefs dealt with several injuries along the offensive line that limited them to an extent. Despite that, they remained one of the better pass-blocking teams in the NFL. Their pressure rate allowed in 2.5 seconds or less trailed only the Saints this season, and Mitchell Schwartz added another strong season in pass protection at right tackle. Run blocking has been a different story, with three of five starters receiving sub-60.0 grades in that department.

Which is why they were susceptible and why we were able to limit them most of that game until their QBs individual brilliance made up for their average play.

LOL. I forgot about that.

I totally agree. But again, when needed, they both stepped up despite both getting pwned for 3.5 quarters. They rushed for 2 TD's and passed for another over that 5 minutes. It wouldn't surprise me if our OL graded out higher overall in that game too.

It was a total repeat, unfortunately.

I saw a lot of Mahomes and the weapons stepping up and the O line just being there holding praying for them to make a play. The Chiefs O line was akin to the rest of the 96 Bulls watching Mike, Scottie and Dennis do their thing.

I think that's fair too. They literally were "holding" on for dear life. LOL

If the refs were there from the SB against the Bucs the 9ers win the SB going away.

Difference between wanting to give grandpa another ring and pornstar Jimmy.

Totally. Please don't mistake this OL topic for me not accounting for all the other issues too. You know I have a grocery long list. This is about simply giving yourself the best odds esp. now that we have our FQB.

You may have a grocery list of issues but you chose this thread exclusively to drive your narrative about why we haven't gotten over the hump.

Conversely, if our oline had played better our qb wouldn't have been hurt and might have been able to make a couple more plays. Every part of the offense relies on every other part of the offense.

You must have missed my grocery lists then.

That said, the reason we're in here most is because those other areas were mostly addressed where personnel was the issue. Here? Still the teams biggest weakness, turned "concern."
