On the subject of O lines. I was watching the Michigan-Minnesota game last night and they flashed a projected O line for Minnesota before they had some injuries. They had a Polynesian tackle that was 6'9" and 400 lbs. Their smallest linemen was 6'5" and about 315 and he was the center. The other guys were all 6'6" and 325-340. I know size alone doesn't mean anything but apparently these guys were supposed to be dominant. I'm not sure what injuries forced the big guy out.

True true.

Safe bet.
And this cracked me up.
Even players the #49ers are about to trade for are getting hurt. https://t.co/QcIZtqIoWv

Absolutely no one is talking to you Hoov!
That's his thing. Interjection.
But duh. Pass more the unit pass protection shows its true colors. Run the most in the NFL, hard to get hit when you're handing off. Can't run so must pass more, unit PP shows its true colors again. Not exactly a secret anymore. Well documented.
That's what adjusted sack rate is for. Just amusing that you guys just ran QB hits into the ground 2 years ago and then last year when it wasn't an issue you moved on to other things and suddenly it no longer was a good barometer....and now it is again lol
Context is everything.

No. The context is whatever the specific discussion was about whenever the stat was brought into play in the discussion. Different team, different players, different situation, different expectations, et. al.
It's not a "matters" vs. "doesn't matter" proposition with pretty much any stat, aside from wins & losses. It all depends on when it's brought up and about what.

Lol the context was it was no longer considered a valuable metric last year when it didn't support a certain narrative like it did the year before. So new metrics were referenced and this was one was cast aside...until now. But I digress Nick Burns

You were talking about QB hits, hence the context.
But yeah, adjusted sacks rate is a good metric too.

Struggled with the A gap blitz, one huge hit on Garoppolo, a few bad penalties but overall, solid PP day and unit run blocking was phenomenal. Kyle masterful under < 2 seconds, receivers extended Arby's.

Why do you think we're all of a sudden able to protect Jimmy for the most part? Was it just getting the run game going?
