But how many want a WR at 13?
Yet when it comes to OL, we're OK with Tomlinson, Garland, Brunskill, Person and Skule not being bad.
The point is adding top talent to ANY unit...like we did with the DL...so much so we just had to trade our best one away.
We're a long long way away from having an equivalent OL of that caliber.
I'll never understand how fans can devalue the OL given our history of producing some of the very best units and players in the HOF today.
I think Goodwin, Pettis, and James were bad receivers base on last season's performance. If you are a healthy scratch while we only play 3 WRs (I only count offensive snaps), then you are a bad receivers, or unplayable receivers. Bourne was serviceable. Sanders and Deebo were solid starting WRs. If we are to lose Sanders, we will really help at the receiver position, unless you want us to spend more draft capital mid season (like our trade for Sanders, which was necessary but expensive).
On the OL, it is a matter of Richburg. Is he going to be able to recover and play close to 100%. We don't know the answer to this, but the front office should have an idea.
I think having Staley, McGlinchy, Richburg, Tomlinson, Person, Brunskill, Garland, S Coleman, and Skule, plus mid to low round picks should be enough for depth. If Richburg won't be available, then we need more interior lineman.
