Yup.
Pretend Richburg is gone and you have a huge hole at RG and your all world LT is about to retire. Time to allocate some real high end resources here.
Agree
We were very fortunate to have Garland last season.
having pick 13 and 31 now puts us in a great position. we could easily turn that into 4 or 5 picks in the first three rounds which we could use to all needs like OG,CB,WR.
Agree
Especially if one of the top tier QB's fall into our slot.
that would be best case scenario. we could even get a first rounder next year outta that trade.
itd be hard to pass up the opportunity of putting one of those top 3 WRs in shannys offense. i think that could be explosive. but we cant keep wasting pick after pick on WR.
buckner basically turned into pick 13. if we could turn pick 13 into say something around pick 20, and another 2nd rounder(maybe even more), and turn pick 31 into a 2nd rounder and one or two later 3rd rounders.....we can essentially turn buckner into 5 or even 6 picks in the first three rounds, while still keeping one in the middle of the first round. in a draft thats supposedly real deep at WR that may be the best move. we can use that first rounder on what we should, which would be the best of the CB or OG prospects available there and still get a great WR with our early 2nd that will be pushed out of the first rd despite having that level of talent. then we still have 3 more picks to get the other out of CB or OG and even a guy that could at least have some amount of ability to play buckners position.
i love buckner and still am not sure if that was right to do, should have kept an paid him over armstead i think. but if we can move one player and fill pretty much every single one of our teams immediate needs with that one move.....itd be hard to not like that.
