I'm still hopeful he pans out. He has some shifty moves and I think the medical staff had some input as to keeping Pettis out of practice. The current medical staff seems ultra conservative.
As for the injury to Staley, the fact that he's 35 and that he got a fractured tibia (non-weight bearing bone) is a little bit of an indication that it's nearing the time for Staley to hang them up. I bet if he was younger, that bone would not have fractured. Usually players near the end of their careers start suffering assorted minor injuries, (this one is major). I think ShanaLynch will take advantage of the draft nerds predictions that next year's OLine draft class is one of the strongest. I'm hoping ShanaLynch takes advantage of that.
So all of a sudden staley is gonna retire because he suffered a hairline fracture on his fibula? Really bro? Staley is a warrior and will come back better then ever. Skule needs to hold the fort down which he will until he comes back. We're laying the smackdown on the steelers this sunday and their will be crickets on here and all of the other threads. oh wait no their won't because we can win by 35 points and everybody here will still find something to complain about.

Staley was doing well too, before the injury, so I'm not calling him washed up at this point, but I think NC's criticism about ShanaLynch needing to invest in the OLine - needs to be acted upon by the front office here on out. I don't see them drafting a OLineman in the first or 3rd rounds next year - but they should draft one in the fifthe or later rounds if Skule pans out, and if not, then in the 4th round at minimum. Again, deferring to our resident draft nerds - ShanaLynch should be able to find a quality OLineman in the midrounds next year if not later. But I'm really hoping Shon Coleman, Pope, Brunskill, and Skule do pan out and look like all pros that we *dont* have to pick an OLineman in next years draft.
