I like your idea very much. Always appreciated this great offensive mind. I would applaud this move

Just have to figure out if he learned from his mistakes in Houston and he had that scary collapse on the sideline last year, so have to make sure he is healthy & can handle the stress of being a head coach.

No defensive HC please.

Gase, Hamilton, Kyle Shanahan, Bowles....all fresh faces basically.

What makes you think that they'll be successful? I am asking because I don't know much about them.

If one of these guys becomes HC I would like to see a consultant or HOFO guys with Holmgren's experience to help blend the coaching staff and deal with management. I've never cared for having a personnel guy and HC as near coequals. Need a referee to break ties. If Jed had more experience he might be able to do it but until then...?

Not wild about Bowles as he's a defensive coordinator. If Fangio leaves then maybe.

I like Hamilton's experience...seems like a good route to learning offense. The fact that the Colts wanted to reunite Luck and Hamilton speaks well for him. He might have the best shot at adapting to the Harbaugh offense with little turmoil.

Shanahan was sabotaged by the QB/Owner/HC dynamic at Washington...so he can't be blamed for the meltdown with RGIII. Promoted each year up the offense at Houston--WR/QB/OC.

Gase is intriguing--though I know some say P Manning is the real OC, I don't agree. He has to rely on the OC being strong enough to disagree and point out errors and for the game plan. It certainly doesn't hurt him to have experience with Manning. Probably the greatest risk/reward potential of this group.

I don't have a clue about these guys personalities, and with our experience with Harbaugh burning bridges while winning it may be really important to get a strong, stable guy.

I kinda like the idea of Kubiak. The other names...pass.

Agreed.

If York screws this up and we have to start over, its time to start pressuring the Yorks to sell the team to someone competent.

I really love seeing this sort of support.
My wife said something interesting and it made a lot of sense. I know this is the longest of longshots but how about Jimbo Fisher. Idk if his name has been mentioned yet but it makes a lot of sense. I love the way he coached the ACC Championship game telling Winston to let him coach the game. Seems like a take charge type of guy and runs a pro style offense. Maybe he would know what to do with Kap

I think if Gruden was offered the job he'd take it.

Nobody speaks higher of the Niners in the media over Gruden. This is his home. I do think he'd be a great fit here and picturing him grilling CK on WCO terminology and precision may be exactly what he needs right now. He's still just as intense as he's ever been. And again, all he has to do is get this offense UP to average (points-wise). That's it. But the potential of the offense would be unlimited. He'd have CK out of the pocket on the move a lot as well...reel in his eyes to the shorter game as well. It would be a QB-friendly offense, no doubt and one that would play to the strengths of CK and our skill positions.

Not thrilled about Gruden as our HC but it would be interesting to see how he does with CK
Bill Cowher anyone
