Let me answer you poll this way. Who is available out there that is better than Harbaugh? Who is available out there that is better than Baalke?
Nobody is better than Baalke. Harbaugh? He is an excellent coach but with an archaic offensive philosophy that needs All-Pro players across the board on offense JUST to be average-at-best. There is little doubt in my mind that I would love to keep Harbaugh but have Baalke fire Roman and hire a real OC and turn the offense over to this OC completely. This way, Harbaugh can focus on "coaching and developing his young QB."
As far as HC candidates, you open the door in SF and you'll have every top college HC knocking down your door as well as every top NFL coordinator wanting a shot or re-shot to start/resurrect their career on the deepest team in the NFL under a new stadium and a top-notch FO.

Hmmm. Some reading and comprehension issues here. I said tell me who is available that is better than either man. Is there someone who is available that is better than either of those two? If so, who? Be specific, please.
Nobody is better than Baalke. As to Harbaugh, how can anyone answer this one until he's gone and Baalke seeks out another like he did when her personally brought in Harbaugh himself; maybe he's already got a list and is checking it twice. I'm not denying it would tough NOW to find a potentially "better" coach than a few months ago b/c very few are available now. But if Harbaugh chose to leave now on his own or gets fired, I have little doubt we have coaches in-house who could interim-HC and we'd be fine. This is a self-managing team esp. on defense and in many positions on offense. I certainly don't want to lose EITHER guy but clearly, the offensive side of the ball (esp. the philosophy) and game management have been critical factors in us not winning in the end.
