james still makes me nuts and if someone other than him was doing that job and kickoffs next year, it would not bother me in the least

Cully does not possess the speed needed at the NFL level to be a game breaker at the position. we need to look at drafting one this year.

no transforming anyone anymore in my opinion,, we are in a battle for top honors in the nfl with only one other team,, now is not the time to turn into the nutty professor and experiment,, we need bonofide play makers and not "projects" in my opinion

Specialists are a dying breed at the position. Whoever it is has to be clear of their role, not feel slighted because they can't get reps at WR/RB.
An interesting point, Denver didnt cover a whole lot of kicks in the reg season as Prater's touchback percentage was so high, particularly at Mile High. Without specialists (osgood, spillman, ventrone types), they gave up 29.5 yards a return. Jacob Tamme isn't chasing down anyone. Seattle has the special teams edge right now. Time to close the gap.

At this point I'm willing to give Deion Sanders a shot...wonder of Mitchell can still run. You would think with the team lacking in that department they would fill it anyway the could. Seattle went out and got good quality guys to help them in FA last season.. All the Niners did was draft hurt players and ask themselves why they aren't playing... I'm so sick right now just thinking about how the 49ers CHOKED 3 years in a row. Embarrassing. We saw a real team win lady night. And I'm a DIE HARD SF fan

True, but he is faster than Dixon and looks like he's experienced. I think James is done in SF.

Actually Cully is one of the fastest players on our team with a 4.36 40 at combine. First go he ran a 4.31! And he's the leading kick returner in SC history. But agreed, we need to draft one, Dri Archer or D'Thomas for me

This. Anyone that says Cully doesn't have enough speed is tripping. One of fastest guys on the team. Great athlete.
