use that money to sign Talib

Fa sho.Hope we can afford him

lol? Talib is going to make top 3 CB money this year if not the most. He's the most talented CB on the market and showed that if at a quality organization(lol hard a time typing that) like the Patriots that he can stay out of trouble and produce on the field.
Bye bye slow as hell, tackle missing, stone hands having mofo.

Yup. Sam Shields just got 4-year $40 mil. Imagine what Talib will command.
Veteran corners are too expensive this year. The great thing for the Niners is that this draft is heavy in receivers and corners. As far as corners go, there are big tall ones like Stanley Jean-Baptiste who will probably be around in the third round and there are corners in the 6-0 range who are 4-4's who will be there in the second.

What is so good about Cully? He destroyed us in the SB.. Flacco had a field day targeting Cully. Made him look like a fool out there. Not a fan of Cully at all..
Brown and Brock are the only keepers. Whitner , he can go also.. I'm tired of his once a game mandatory 15 yard penalty and Atleast one blown coverage for 56 yards..
His anticipation is awful.. I'm still hung over from the NFCCG.. What a killer loss.

lol, he had one bad game and all of a sudden he's trash?

short memories i guess

Yeah, actually Culliver was rated very high by PFF that year. He had a bad game, but you also have to say that Flacco had an incredibly lucky game. He was basically throwing up "prayer" fly balls and Ravens receivers were somehow coming down with them. It was ridiculous. Culliver has real good speed and real good size. He's a keeper.

This. Anyone expecting that the 49ers will replace the big salary of Rogers with another big salary CB is setting themselves up for disappointment IMO. If the 49ers sign anyone at CB, it'll be a mid-level guy who's hanging around in the bargain bin after all the other teams have finished their crazy spending sprees.

Maybe in Madden?
There are some who won't command huge bucks...wily vets like Tillman, Eric Wright or younger guys like Nolan Carroll. Even Champ Bailey won't command a lot now that Denver's cut him. If Brown leaves, Baalke has to sign at least one vet...you can't just draft rookies for depth behind Brock & Culliver.

Wright sounds like he's pretty set on coming back, if so, that fulfills your veteran requirement.

Why not? The Niners won a Super Bowl with two rookie corners and a rookie safety. In fact that secondary was the best in the league that year with 3 rookies and a second-year starter.

Davis close to a deal, not with Colts.

Why would they replace an over the hill CB with another over the hill CB? What's wrong with Cox, Wright, Morris, and/or a rookie?

Agree. Brock and Culliver are both veterans now. They're experienced and battle tested. We should have no issues with rookies behind them.
