I really liked Marecic at Stanford and was surprised the Niners didn't take him. And Dixon really does produce when he is given a chance. I don't think the offense will change. The FB will be expected to play like Miller.

I have confidence they will scheme around Miller's absence and that Dixon will perform well with the limited portion of Miller's work load that they give to him. But he ain't gonna do everything that Miller is asked to do.

What happened to signing Owen Marecic? Harbaugh said yesterday that he was "en route" to the 49ers, but then reports came out that they wouldn't sign him. What changed?

I saw something about him not wanting the workload, then I saw something about Harbaugh and Baalke not coming to an agreement. I really have no idea at this point and interested as well.

Matt Barrows @mattbarrows Source: #49ers worked out former DL/FB Will Tukuafu today; have not yet decided on whether to add him to the roster in place of Bruce Miller

The question isn't if we have confidence in Dixon, the real question is whether the coaches have confidence in Dixon.
If Dixon has taken on the FB role fully then we got no problem. It's a shame that he couldn't be rotated in more with Miller.
He's a better runner than miller, but I don't think his hands are better and he's not a better blocker. But he was in the game last week and we did well.
In a strange way, it may give our offense another dimension since Dixon is a better runner and more dangerous in the open field than miller.
I hope BOOBIE has been studying his ass off. Thank god we have two games to work out the kinks.
Think if Baalke had managed to deal him for a sixth round pick like he wanted to at the deadline that would have been a disaster. I think Vance McDonald if he gets health is going to play a huge role as well.

I think Boobie will be alright running the ball, but I have concerns about his pass blocking.

yeah, not good sign...
It could be that they don't want him doing anything but ST. I doubt it, but it could be. I would almost rather Wilhoite get a shot, he can run and he has that LB mentality to hit people hard

Thanks for your post NeeJ49er, I believe it's a question that's on every 49er fans mind. Miller was a DE in college, so right off you're losing a smash mouth quality. Booby may be able to break some plays and get more touches. He's been pushing for PT, well here's his chance, let's see what he has.
