May not be a bad idea, but to compromise should be part of the challenges.

We need to make sure personal fouls are earned and not given. The defenses that work hard all week to perform don't deserve it nor do the players and their families by shelling out dough wrongly

Exactly. These penalties that are 15+ yards are critical. Can really alter the outcome of the game.
There is no harm in making it a challengeable play, not initiated by the Ref crew unless in the final 2 minutes of a half. Teams can still be limited to 2 challenges a game, 3 if they win both. The game won't be slowed down at all.

Its a good idea.
They should time the decision if its going to work because the game is long enough. and they should have a dedicated ref that looks at replay and communicates down to the refs on the field about the final decision. Watching the ref run over to the tv screen to watch footage is a waste of time because everyone else knows the call before the guy gets to the screen and puts the headphones on.

Yes like ray lewis said : the things players do just to see the field on Sunday. The therapy the study the ice the shots the stretching the practice and then to perform at an elite level and shut down Brees and company only to lose on a horses*** call and then have to pay $16k??? Unbelievable! Yes the team lost because the offense stinked but the defense brooks and his family deserves a replay review. Those players out in 60 - 80 hours just to perform each week and then you take a plane back west feeling cheatedOriginally posted by SofaKing:Originally posted by Pillbusta:We need to make sure personal fouls are earned and not given. Warranted - I'd rather have our defenses feeling like they are not just getting penalized for doing the job, but fined after the fact! Whitner showed a proper appeal can give some justification, but why not implement in game for the sake of how sad some of these calls are getting and are game changers!!

after the way we got f**ked in the superbowl on that crabtree non call I thought the nfl would definitely have challenges available on penalty and non-penalty calls included in the challenges that teams get

If they reviewed every judgement call the game would never end. It's fine the way it is.

Great idea! These are not only just 15 yard penalties. These are game changing, momentum killing penalties that can cost games.
Examples: Niners vs. Saints, Patriots vs. Panthers, Packers vs. Seahawks(last year), Niner vs. Ravens(SB XLVIII), and many many more.

They wouldn't review every call though. Just make it a challengeable play. As long as the number of challenges stays the same (2 per game, 3 if you win both), it won't slow down the game at all.

Why not just play regular football like it used to be and stop making QB's into sissies. They are going to have to put flags on these guys pretty soon (QB's). This isn't football anymore btw what you watch every week. I don't know what you would call it? But it isn't football.

This is my dream scenario. Just go back to calling the game like they did for 50 years before The Golden Boy Tom Brady went down and Mother Goodell freaked out.
