Hawkins is in his 6th year in the NFL. 6th, not 1st.
Hawkins has exactly 0 career punt returns. 0. Never done it. He's not going to get the job for a SB hopeful with no history and no practice.
Hawkins has 14 career kick returns (0 TD) in the NFL in 3 games over 5 years. Did all of his previous coaches miss his obvious game breaking ability?
scoots said nothing wrong and i still say doc is onto something when coaches opted he was just not right for the locker room and chemistry they have been so carefull to attain over the years, yes put a guy who has zero practice doing punts ahead of people like kyle and cox. yes

While Tukuafu may be versatile, how effective would you say he is in each of those roles? He's high energy, but in my opinion is not a good DL and Marecic is probably a better lead blocker. Why bother keeping him after Dobbs is eligible to play? I'm curious why you think he adds value to the team.

Williams made mistakes on punt returns in the NFC championship game as he was forced into service in an unfamiliar role ... so you want to replace him, now that he is experienced and practiced at returning punts with someone who has NEVER returned punts in the NFL (including for the 49ers this pre-season)?

Marecic may replace Ventrone. Then Dobbs replaces Tukuafu or Jerod-Eddie.

LOL, I'm sure you taught them a ton about football and brushed them up on their 49ers history. P.S. Was kidding about the suing part. Hard to get a joke over the internet. FrankGored is another one... I have seen a few guys on here with Gored in their name. Fits Frank Gore. Actually, on second thought tell her to name it something like innocentgirlwhoknowsnothingaboutfootball so she can clean up again. Maybe that's too obvious.

Agree 100%...Tukuafu isn't effective

Tukuafu is the fullback in short yardage. I can't see them getting rid of him.

Dang, at least he should have a chance to play and do well there. Also, AB a few of us were wondering in your pinned salary cap thread how we went from 6.88 to 2.947? Weren't all the guys who made the roster already counted on for salary when you had it at 6.88?
Edit: Looking at Cleveland's depth chart they cut their 3rd TE Kellen Davis so looks like Gray could be heading to their 53 man roster.

It is due to the top 51 now gone, now all players count, so it adds up.

Hawkins likely signed his own fate by doing something really stupid in the same game that JH had chastised him for doing his first stupid thing. JH doesn't like not being listened to...at all!
