What we really need is a corner, not a old over payed receiver.
It's never good enough. With our WRs woes the past 2 seasons, not to mention the last 10 years, have been atrocious.
We'll probably add another WR between rounds 2-4 and perhaps another in the late rounds. Harbaugh preaches camp competition. We're getting it this year. I think the only safe WR on the roster is Crabtree at this point.

Seattle gives up a 1, a 7, and a mid rounder next year for Harvin.
Niners say, "OK...good move....we'll go get SB Champion Boldin for a 6".
Next.
Word.

Don't be shocked to see them add another WR relatively early in the draft as well. Boldin is only a short-term solution.
Not sure about that. With Crab, Boldin and Mario getting most of the run at WR, they'll still need to develop Jenkins (and you can bet he'll get a long look in pre-season with Mario not ready until the September timeframe. They'll definitely draft another WR, but I'm not sure if they'll do it early...especially with the holes on defense that are now getting pretty serious (FS, backup NT, backup DE and eventual starting CB).

That's what I was thinking. We definitely aren't dumping Jenkins yet, but Manningham's salary now will go to Boldin.

Boldin is one of the most physical WRs I've seen. Tough guy. Able to catch despite taking a big hit or while fending off contact. Doesn't get much separation. Good hands. I like this move a lot better than drafting a WR early. We still have Jenkins.

What we really need is a corner, not a old, over payed, receiver.
So what better way could you have spent a 6th round draft choice?

Good point. Our teams are throwing haymakers trying to one up each other and get back to the Big Dance and their teams are just sitting on the sidelines. This is fun though, isn't it?

A one, 7 and 4 next year. And apparently they are going to pay him like Fitz.

And if he's not it's because his knee is FUBAR.

The last two years the injuries to our WRs have hurt us big time, too. Gotta keep restocking.
