I don't like this trade! I don't care what for but he is gonna break the bank! Draft Banks from Mississippi State and bam he costs less and can do it all!

If I'm reading that right....
We'd still have FOUR picks in the first 4 rounds plus the comp picks...
...and I wouldn't make that trade unless an affordable extension to his contract was there for the signing.

Correct. No pass rusher available in FA that are woth the $$$...unless Harrisin or Abraham come cheap...and I don't think that either will want to be a 3rd down specialist.

Every time I see some NFL Network piece on Revis it seems like that they are mentioning the Niners and Revis, almost if they are trying to push the deal themselves because it seems like many of the "experts" on radio are always claiming that the Niners aren't even talking to the Jets about Revis or that it is unlikely. One of those was John Clayton, but if he is now talking about the Niners being in the Revis talks, that must mean something is happening.
I originally didn't want Revis here, I didn't like that we would be giving up a lot for a player coming off a knee injury and having to pay him, but whenever I see clips of Rodgers getting burned I have more incentive. Rodgers has stepped up in some games, but it just seems like he gets abused in the real big ones.

I said this in another forum. I would trade this years 1st and a 3rd rounder for Revis and the Jets 2014 1st round pick. especially if this is going to be a 1 year rental.

I dunno where to stand on the rumors.
The 49ers could be set to make the treade 10 minutes from now or they may have never been involved.
It seems like all of the rumblings I've heard are people just talking about it making sense...not any specific sources saying they are involved. In fact, they've gone out of their way to say they are NOT involved.
Then again...that's what the Niners do. You hear nothing and then stuff happens. Out of the blue...which again can be a sign that there is no truth to any of this.
Baalke keeps us guessing, so while I don['t expect a deal, it wouldn't shock me.

Their 2014 first rounder is likely to be high!

LOL...
Forget Revis, I'll trade our 1 for theirs next year straight up. That could be Clowney.

Corner maybe, but c'mon man, we have the two best MLB's in the league.
Do they get compared to Mike Singletary and Dick Butkus?
What? They are the best in the league today. Who cares what fossils they do or don't get compared to.
Actually, yes, they ARE being compared to the best MLB's to ever play the game. Willis and Bowman ARE the standard now.

This--the size, speed, flawless tackling and all around coverage they offer make Singletary and Butkus seem rather limited in comparison.

In order for us to really pull that off, we'd probably need 3 total 1st rounders. Maybe we could trade our #2s away for future #1s. Then trade the remaining picks to trade back up into the 2nd or 3rd for a few more players. But overall, doubtful.

So far, a sixth for a top WR, Smith for two seconds, and the niners are mentioned in almost every FA story today as a suitor. Very exciting year for a niner fan and getting better. I now see the Revis move as a potential disaster of Philadelphia proportions. If they can get him for a second and third, fine but lets mortgage the future on an injured CB. Baalke is in the catbird seat!
