Having watched Hunter for a long time, I believe he has elite vision that you just can't really teach.
I like Hunter a lot, but he's not a bellcow RB like Gore. He has great vision, I agree.

hunter was a beast before his injury, i wouldnt drop him below LMJ just because lamichael played more recently. both are good backs but hunter was good at everything he did, lamichaels blocking was not as good as hunters and hunters vision and burst are excellent. too close to call for now but im hoping lattimore can get back to 100% as our future bell cow with hunter and lamichael splitting time based on the situation

Latti is the future. Kendall and LMJ can stay in their current roles.

His role in the future is - plenty of runs, excellent blocking, catching some passes and being a terrific 49er.

As much as I love Gore, 2013 may be his last year with us, if Lattimore turns out to be the RB he was before the injury. If they do not release him, do not be surprised if they even trade Gore after '13 season for a draft pick. This is a business and the FO has been outstanding of late.

i just love his runs to the outside and cant wait to see more of them next year with Boldin and Mcdonald on one side and Crabs and Davis on the other we can push him to whatever side we want.. He has elite vision and explosion and blocking Qualitys so that gives harbaugh alot of options as to where he will be utalized in the O.. Assuming he can make a full recovery I am expecting huge things from KH in 13

Lol @ ppl who say LMJ will replace Hunter. Please remember that Lamichael didn't receive a single carry in the season until Kendall went down.

just playing devils advocate, but Kaep played very little until Alex went down. Sometimes an injury is what it takes to replace a good player.

This true..
He is NOT a Barlow type runner..mannn..
and that's not a good thing?

I'd expect Kendall to pick up where he left off...he gives Gore important rest, stretches the defense and has an excellent burst. There are many teams in the league who'd love to have him.

In terms of 2013 carries I see it like this:
Gore 15-18
Hunter 8-12
James 3-5
Dixon 0-1

I think he and lmj will batte out for the no. 2 behind lattimore after gore retires. But that doesn't mean Hunter can surprise us and become the no. 1 guy. He isn't a stick, he is near 200 lbs and can gain a little bit more muscle.

I agree, and the same can be said for Tom Brady replacing Bledsoe. However in Kaep's case, we knew he was taking over sooner or later. He was getting more and more snaps as the year went on.
Kendall was supposed to be that player for us. He was our heir apparent to Frank Gore and James was our heir apparent to Hunter.
