Anyone else worried about retaining the current Niners coaching staff?

Outside of Harbauce, it looks like Fangio, Roman and even Seely would all seem to attract coaching openings around the league-- especially after today.

There's no word, yet, on whether any 49ers assistant coaches will be considered for those openings. But this is the week in which there could be interviews.
Assistant coaches under contract to playoff clubs that have byes in the first weekend of the playoffs may be interviewed for head coaching positions through the conclusion of the wild-card games.
Teams are not allowed to deny permission to assistant coaches to interview for head-coaching positions.

don't forget, for defense our secondary coach is Ed Donatell who could be a defensive coordinator else where...so I think if Fangio leaves, Ed will step in. If Ed leaves with him, I woudln't mind Lovie Smith at DC.

One of the good things about having an offensive-minded Head Coach is that offensive coordinator changes don't have as large an effect. And, I have some problems with Roman. I don't like this setup where one coach does all the running plays, other coaches do the passing plays and the guy crafting the running plays is the one calling the plays.

Would Tomsula be possibly a canidate if Fangio left? I know he has only been a Dline coach, and then had the one game as interim headcaach, but man i love that guy, and he has been working within the 3-4 for ahile no and under several differant coordinators.
I know its something where you want an experianced DC, but i think eventually a guy like tomsula will get a shot at DC if he wants it.
Dont really care for Roman, so i wouldnt mind him leaving, but i do like Fangio.

Fangio isn't going anywhere. He's been around so long that if he was going to be a head coach, it would have happened already. There's guys like the late Jim Johnson who were good at their particular roles but never really had a shot to move up, or simply didn't want it. The Falcons OC and special teams coach are being interviewed for head coaching positions but for some crazy reason, Mike Nolan isn't. Besides the guys that are being looked at in the college coaching ranks, you have a ton of other assistant coaches getting looks at HC positions.
It is entirely possible that someone like Donatell will leave for a coordinator position, and Seely might get a shot at being a head coach too, but I don't see it as likely.
Realistically I would expect Roman to be gone(I'm so sad and broken up about that) and Donatell to be a defensive coordinator for some other team.

There are a lot of coaches getting fired...and a bunch of them are quality coordinator material.
I'd like to keep Fangio and Seely...both of whom have done well for the most part, but want Roman gone.
Hopefully, we can pick up Norv as our new OC.

norvs system is nothing similar to ours even though he would be a great OC for a guy with a rocket arm like kaep with all the down field stuff. i think we will stay WCO as long as harbaugh is here. roman is the only one i could see possibly leaving and i wouldnt mind that either. hes been good but also pretty damn stubborn and boneheaded at times as well and harbaugh is the head magician anyway so losing an OC wont suck as much as it has in years past. i think fangio will stay, he couldve become a head coach years ago and it doesnt seem like he wants to be. seely i dont know what he will do but he could find a job elsewhere i guess

Tad bit dramatic? You think the 49ers are the only team with assistant coaches?
In the college ranks, Bill O'Brien and Chip Kelly are being seriously looked at as potential head coaches.
For at least one of the jobs, in Arizona, every indication is that they will retain their defensive coordinator, Ray Horton, and make him a head coach.
Then you've got your retreads, guys like Holmgren, Andy Reid, Lovie Smith, Jon Gruden, Brian Billick...etc
Then you've got your "absolutely gone" assistants/coordinators such as Mike Zimmer of the Bengals, Mike McCoy of the Broncos and Perry Fewell of the Giants(favored for Bills job)
And then you've got a ton of other assistants who are up in the air such as Aaron Kromer of the Saints, Jay Gruden of the Bengals, Gus Bradley of the Seahawks, Jack Del Rio of the Broncos, Josh McDaniels of the Patriots.
I haven't heard Fangio mentioned even as a minor candidate for any single head coaching position. He didn't get so much as a single interview or even a phone call at the end of last season. Roman has been mentioned as a potential guy for Philly and Carolina and Seely gets mention at times as well, but considering how the 49ers special teams has looked this year, that may very well work against him.

Pat Shurmur, WCO, good with young quarterbacks,
Wouldn't be upset with Norv, whichever team ends up with him is getting an OC for a long long time as Norv is never getting another head coaching job.

Nope. I'd be fine with them all leaving.

No not really concerned. If Roman goes then Ault is out there. If Vangio goes there are enough good coaches on staff to step up or who are now available since the firings. If Brad goes then we replace him. Not lie our special tems where lighting it up this year anyways. Bottom line, we need more depth next year capable of producing, not bench warmers. We have lots of draft picks next draft ans we need to use them wisely.
