I agree with the OP; they should shift from I formation to Trips with him in the slot and miller as a blocking TE. that would mess teams up. if you add a hurry up element to it right after the D has their run personell on the field we could tear opponents up.

In all seriousness it IS happening. I've been saying it for a long time but go back and look at the transcripts for conferences around the NO game. Harbaugh lets it slip that he was getting work in the slot as Sproles does and that he had already done it was expected to do it in coming weeks for teams.
