Can't complain, man! Still watching every Niners game. Enjoying this winning feeling I get watching them! Just busy, working for a firm in Costa Mesa. I lurk some but try not to sucked back into the fray...the 'Zone can be quite addictive if you let it be
How about yourself?
Cool!
Cannot complain, either!

Vikings - 24 49ers - 10.
49ers - 32 Bears - 7.
Bears - 28 Vikings - 10.
The answer is some where in the scores above.

Kaepernick,
Here is why,
1. The biggest reason, mobility, his ability to extend the play is phenomenal. Look at the Saints game, there were 4 or 5 of those plays where he was almost sacked and ended up completing a pass for positive yards, if Alex is in there he is sacked on those 4 or 5 plays. Don't want to take anything away from Alex he has had a good run over the last year and a half but when pressured he isn't very good, you see that deer in the headlight look pretty often with him when he has blitzers in his face.
2. Kaepernick makes this offense explosive. Kaep isn't afraid to throw the ball down the field and allows receivers to go make a play on the ball and let big things happen. About three of those throws he made in the Bears game, Alex wouldn't even have attempted let alone completed. I love Kaep's confidence out there.
3. Running ability, Everybody can see that Kaep has a good set of wheels on him and if things break down and everyone is covered down field the guy can take off and make big things happen in the run game. Alex can run some to but not like Kaep can. Kaep also makes teams prepare for the zone read because of his running ability.
4. I like Kaep's ability to spread the ball around to everybody and get everyone involved in the game instead of just hitting check downs half of the time like Alex does. Manningham strung together some catches Sunday and had arguably his best game of the year and I believe a large part of that was Kaep finding him when he is open.
5. Arm Strength, Kaep has a stronger and more accurate arm than Alex does and can fit the ball into a tight window when he has. See the pass down the middle to Delaine Walker yesterday as a prime example.
Overall I feel Kaep is the better qb and gives us the best chance to win and although I am grateful for what Alex has done over the past year and a half, this is a business and you gotta do what is best for the team and right now that is Colin Kaepernick.
Hope for a great rest of the season and Go Niners!
Good, i agree with all of this! What play i really wanted to see that didnt happen was the long throw, i believe was going to Moss, which a saints defender hit Kaep's arm and the ball fluttered.

I wouldn't be surprised if Harbaugh went back to Alex Smith, not because Alex is the better QB, but out of loyalty. Just IMHO.
However, having said that, Harbaugh and company will eventually have Kaepernick take the reigns down the line. So regardless if Alex gets back the starting job or not for the remainder of this year, Kaepernick I believe will be the future for this team.

It doesn't matter, if CK starts one more game, it's too late to go back to Smith.
I think if CK starts in the playoffs, our chance at getting to a Super Bowl is about 5-10 percent. Just getting there.

Loyalty doesn't replace plays made on the field, something Kaep looks like he is better at then Alex.

I agree, all the pundits and ex-coaches now analyst have said publicly that Kaepernick brings more to the table and can make our offense better.
However, I'm just saying that I think Harbaugh, as a way to show respect to Smith, gives Smith this last year (remaining of this year) as a starting 49ers QB. It could be possible, just saying. I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen.

What do you feel the chance is if Alex starts the playoffs?
Honest question

Seems like the whole smith crowd believe Alex is a lock to win the Super Bowl this year

I think either qb can beat falcons packers or whatever wildcard we face. The giants flatout have smith fihgured out. they baited him numerous times. We need to be more dynamic at qb. Another thing, we are gonna have to beat 3 great teams in a row to win the superbowl. Smith has a habit of playing a great game and then putting up a stinker. I dont know what the odds are that kaep can win the superbowl but i know they are very low with alex smith.imo

As far as the playoff talk is concerned, you can all say Alex is the more experienced guy and all that jazz.. which he is, but there is going to come a point in the playoffs where our starting qb whoever that may be at that point and time is going to have to throw the ball down the field and BEAT a defense. In the playoffs touchdowns not field goals win ball games when you are playing teams that have explosive offenses, you score touchdowns by throwing the ball down the field when you pass not checking the ball down. If Kaep plays the way he has in his past two starts, then he gives us the best chance to win games the rest of the season and in the playoffs. Two critical areas Kaep has outperformed Alex in as his time as the starting qb is facing the blitz, and 3rd down conversion. Kaep is better on 3rd downs because he can scramble and avoid the rush and extend the play, which is crucial come playoff time. Kaep plays the way he has the past two games and doesn't have a let down, then he gives us the best chance to win, the rest of the season and in the playoffs... plain and simple.

Based on this vote I think the WZ members are pretty smart.
Alex Smith, he's solid and steady, you know what you'll get. CK is more dynamic, but he's unknown.
