If Alex doesn't practice today while he's waiting to get cleared will he start?

Alex Smith update: After a rough Sunday evening that included blurred vision, headaches and nausea ...
... the 49ers quarterback improved Monday and Tuesday. He has a mark on his forehead from the hits he took during a 12-play drive that spanned the first and second quarter. It's unknown at this point whether Smith has been cleared for practice this week. He is expected -- though it's not yet confirmed -- to address the media this afternoon, which would hint that he's been cleared by an independent neurologist, the first step in the NFL's post-concussion protocol.

Primetime home game on the west coast, Jason Campbell sucks, and even if Cutler starts (which is unlikely), his health condition (diabetes) has always played a huge factor in his performance during 'opposite coast' evening games, whether he was a Bear, or a Bronco. Specially seeing that he'll be in a 2hr spin, with this blood-sugar/insulin cycle skewed.

I remember Michael Lewis picked him off in the endzone to seal the win.
yup and he gonna do it again.
agreed
That was a Thursday Night game, and Actually the pick to seal it was Aubrayo Franklin.
No. It was Michael Lewis.
Fittingly, the game ended on an interception with strong safety Michael Lewis cradling the ball in his hands with his team's fifth pick of the night as the clock showed 0:00.

Matt Barrows @mattbarrows Other injured/nicked 49ers, Mike Iupati, Aldon Smith and Frank Gore also were on hand for the start of practice.
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter 49ers QB Alex Smith has passed concussion tests this week and, so far, is on track to start Monday night vs. Chicago.

#49ers QB Alex Smith cleared for non-contact drills at practice today according to @mattbarrows so things looking up for him.

Good to hear that Alex will play. Kaep starting against the Bears defense would have been a disaster likely resulting in 3+ turn overs. Not knocking Kaep, but he's not ready for a test like that.
