Smith's limitations become more and more evident as the season goes on. Personally, I'm willing to take a step back to take two forward (possibly). There is no upside from here with Smith. The stuff he struggles with he always struggled with and you can't teach.
*He doesn't see the whole field
*He doesn't have good arm strenght (Thats why he throws deep rainbows instead of lazers down field)
* He's a poor decision maker when faced with multiple options.
* Below average pocket presense (not only does he turn his back to line of scrimmage when scrambling, he runs into the arms of the defense)
There is no doubt Kaep has the potential to become a turnover machine, but its also very possible he can put up points that Smith would never get. Kaep could be the next RGIII ( ) or the next Jay Cutler ( ). With that said, its up to the coaches to groom him in they way they want him to play.
I just dont see Smith doing anything that most QBs cant. So unless Kaep is below starting quality, he'll be just fine. Besides, dont you want to know what we have in him before next years draft? The window is always closing.

You don't have to be satisfied but you should "support" what's going on.
If people really think CK and Alex are interchangable at this point and the outcomes would be a wash then why switch? Making a switch like that at this stage of the season when you are 5-2 is asinine. And very likely could lose the locker room.
Alex haters are just going to have to suck it up until Alex plays himself out of a job. All their b***hing and moaning won't bring about the change.

He's got the balls and arm.strength that Alex will never have... And as far as Nevada bias I went to.UNLV ans hated the guy for killing us for four years
Go look at Arods interception directly to Bowman. They were dowm only 8 cost them the game.
But that's different somehow.

how do u know hes not ready?
He would be playing if he was. He has came in and looked worse than Smith. Harbs, Roman and the rest of the staff see him all the time and can evaluate talent better than us. Also, they dont give a s*it about Smith's feelings.
You can never bring any supporting evidence of what confidence you have in Kaep, why and what he has done to show you that. You'll just come with cheap one liners about Smith.
Where you at Fly?
I really give u credit for that faith on Alex after 8 malignant yrs, I really do

There's a reason I don't post much on here anymore people are all over the place here either total homers or haters.
Read what I said again, maybe get a parent to help you if you're still struggling. Alex Smith gives the 49ers the best chance to win right now because he plays safe. He won't throw the ball into tight coverage, he'll take the dumpoff if he feels guys aren't wide open deep. He'll take a sack instead of risking a throw. He's safe which tends to limit turnovers which helps teams win especially when they have a very good defense to work with.
That doesn't change the fact that Kaepernick has the tools you look for in a QB but he isn't on Alex's level in terms of reading defenses, knowing the offense, etc...obvious given this is his 2nd year vs Alex being a seasoned vet at this point.
The reason I mentioned the throw to Moss is because Kaepernick throws very well on the run. Only an idiot would assume I meant I want Colin to start because of one throw. The only reason i posted in this thread was because people can't just call it like it is, Alex supporters for some reason feel the need to dog Kaepernick and I think that's stupid. The guy is unproven but that doesn't mean he's terrible. It doesn't mean he's great either but nobody knows right now. He has great potential and he has all the physical skills a good QB needs. Once he's there mentally he could be an excellent player but RIGHT NOW...Alex Smith is the better guy for the team given their identity.
Take a look at Eli Manning. He makes throws that few coaches would advice but he takes risks, throws his receivers open and that leads to some huge plays. It also leads to turnovers sometimes and that's why the Giants are so inconsistent.
Kaepernick is that type of player - he's not a guy who will shy away from throwing into tight coverage and he'll take the shots. Alex Smith doesn't do that. But that means he's a better choice for this ballclub right now. He's not flashy but he's safe and he gets wins.
And lastly...don't make idiotic assumptions. I'm a big boy if I meant something I would say it.

Smith needs glasses, he can't see 5 yards down the field. Guy is not even an average QB.

If you think Dilfer is better than Smith, that says a lot. The memories I have of Dilfer on SF are bad. Really bad.
You're showing your blind bias.
They seem pretty comparable to me
Dilfer 1 superbowl ring
Alex 0 superbowl rings
Dilfers best game with the 49ers, against the eventual NFC champion Cardinals of 2007
25 of 39, 256 yards, 2 TDs, No interceptions
Alex Smiths best game, against the NFC South Champ Saints of 2011
24 of 42, 299 yards 3 touchdowns and no interceptions
The difference? It took Alex Smith 8 years to play his best game as a pro

Exactly... your typical one sentence line about Smith. I think people assume it can't get worse with Kaep and want to put the kid in before he is ready. The reality is, it can get a lot worse. You don't try experiments with this type of team. We're too good.

The difference is Aaron Rodgers will make up for it by throwing 45 touchdowns or more this year and Alex Smith will throw under 20.

Alex Smith running tally: Stats after Eagles game in 2010. Now a complete 32 games or 2 full seasons worth of games. 32 Games, 883 Att, 558 Comp, 6406 Yards, 42 Tds, 13 INTs, 94.69 QB Rating.
I don't know what you consider average is but...

First of all I'm not dogging Alex. I'm calling it the way he is.
Kaepernick isn't proven and people are acting like he's Tim Tebow yet the kid hasn't had a chance to play as a normal QB. That's like someone saying AJ Jenkins is Rashaun Woods.
