I saw that too, I literally had to look twice to make sure that was AJ running down field because I couldn't believe it at first.
I had to do a double take at first too. Then I saw the number and just shook my head in disgust that Roman couldn't figure that one out..
Very frustrating because it's clear Baalke knows we need to open up the offense and spread the field more. He's drafted and made moves in FA that reflect this, but the coaching staff has not been able to find a proper role for many of these players. That has to change.

Kap has to have a great year. All WRs ditto.
Coach has to win it all.
DBs have to meld to know what page each one is on every play.
D has to stand tough.
RBs will be good.
OL has to block better, and they will for pass pro.
GReg rOMaN...either hits it out of the park this yr with all this new artillery, OR...it is his last yr here. I think trent will fire him if he isn't a top flite OC with well designed plays called in a coherent way. If greg can't show he is a top flite OC, my bet he is adios at end of yr. This team deserves the best...and right now they don't have an OC in the top half. On this team that is just unacceptable.

Well said SK. Baalke's hands are tied after he drafts them and it's got to be frustrating as hell for him and Jed to see this if they feel the team is good enough to win it all.

Trent hired Harbaugh, so I assume that Trent can fire Roman...would of course be very disappointing if this were to come to pass

^^^ I think we could be looking at a new OC by week 8 if we clearly haven't evolved the passing game...same route the Ravens took in their road to a Superbowl victory. And if so, Baalke's got him on speed dial already, no doubt, or in house already. And I have a feeling he'd be given full control over the offense, even over Harbaugh. It will be someone who can provide a clear foundation/system to be built upon/installed...quicker starts (maybe scripted plays), more QB-focused, gets the QB and WR/RB's involved early in the passing game, can play chess very well (one play to set up another, adjust to what defenses are doing in-game and at half time, etc.), much better designed plays esp. in the RZ, use of multiple weapons, creative, dynamic, etc.
That said, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves...yet.

You guys are really letting your imaginations run wild lol. The only way roman goes anywhere is if our head coach is following him out the door or he's hired as a HC at the end of the year.

The FO has appeared to already put pressure on both HaRoman to expand the offense and have clearly brought in enough talent via FA/Trade/Draft to do just that. If it's not working, you don't need to toss out the coach...just the OC and give him full control; one centralized OC who controls everything unlike the make-shift system we currently have (with about 8 different coaches involved). Highly doubt Roman gets hired as a HC anywhere (college or NFL).

As your clever nickname suggests HaRoman are one in the same. This is "the system" Great run game, limited turnovers and efficient passing game. And guess what it works! Three NFC championship games later prove that. The efficiency of the passing game needs to continue to improve and everyone knows that and with CKs growth and added weapons it will. Reading nfl writers from around the league and stepping out of the bubble that is the zone with made up theories based on little, you realize Greg roman is highly respected and maybe not ready right now to be HC but well on his way.

I disagree. But not totally. I think george Whitfield was acquired to put a little pressure on G-ro and Geep to get better in the passing game and training QB's.

I just had to quote, bold, underline, and italicize that phrase. Remember when the WZ thought the 49ers ran a one read passing attack? Those were fun times. Back to the sidelines I go.

I agree, they really are and no doubt, Roman is most likely executing HarBo (Schemblacher)'s game day philosophy. That said, Roman's expertise is in the run game...not the passing game (clearly) and if he doesn't drastically improve in this area with development from CK and all of the personnel moves Baalke made, I just can't believe this FO would sit on their hands anymore (same exact pattern for 3.5 years under 2 QB's). Roman had less interviews this off season that the previous year. In short, don't be surprised if the contention between Harbaugh and Baalke was related to the offense (alleged) and we shouldn't dismiss the report that Harbaugh took over he play calling late last year. The point? Roman is on a short leash IMHO and we shouldn't be surprised by that. All that said, I hope the light bulb goes off for both HaRoman and they are genuine when they made public comments about evolving and opening up the offense...scrapping the offense from the past and reevaluating everything.
Here's to their (and our) success!

LOL.
Well to be fair, Harbaugh just said that when it appeared that CK was a one-read QB (it was true) b/c we only had one receiver to throw to.

This. We'll never become the Patriots under Harbaugh but with a revamped WR core and another year of Kap's development, passing game needs to get better, evolve, and expand. And based on comments Roman has said himself a few weeks back, he agrees.

I can't wait...very excited to see the evolution. We have the "license" no doubt!
