the offensive game plan was to throw the ball and put the game in alex's hands. while this was painful as evidenced by the results of yesterday's game it was a gameplan that needed to be put in place. we needed to know if alex really had grown or not. and i think i can definitively say that he has not grown and regressed to his former self. being an arm chair GM i see no future in having alex smith anymore. i'm tired of going back and forth on this. i think his poor performance is taking the confidence out of the team as a whole. the defense got tired being on the field and getting NO help from the offense. the offense looked disjointed with the subbing of the qbs. its pretty damming when the kap has to come in to run the 2 min offense. i say use the injured index finger as an excuse to pull alex out and put kap in. i was livid w the performance yesterday.

I'm not mad, disappointed more than anything. After the first two or three drives and the first pic it seem to just go down hill. Running game was nowhere to be found and the passing game went right to hell. I'm sure the staff will get it right for the Thursday night game.

If you watch that Delanie INT though, you will see that Alex believed Amukamara was gonna follow Rio inside. He was showing Alex his right shoulder as Alex threw it... but then he flipped his hips and instead went sideline to Walker. The ball hung up, which was GOOD.. because this gave Walker time to line up and jump for it.. but he simply didn't. The CB wanted it more and got it instead. F**k Walker.
In the post game conference on one of the ints he said he seen Mario getting held so he just threw it towards him and hoped to get the call. I think that might have been the one that sailed. Bottom line alex... NEVER EVER EVER take a chance that the refs will make a call.

davide49, am I still a bad fan because I didn't have alex as the #1 QB in the NFL and I didn't have rose colored glasses on thinking we would walk all over a great Giants team and blow them out?

Alex had an awful day, but the coaching staff didn't help either. 8 carries for Gore, and no touches in the last 40 minutes is inexcusable. The strength of the team is based on the run game. VD targeted only 2-3x. You make big passing plays and insert Kaep a play or two later, which resulted in either penalties or loss in yards. The Giants came to play, and knowing the Giants they always bring there A games in big games. Even on some of the INT's by Rolle the defense were in position to make plays. Harbaugh and Co were to busy making Visa commercials or so it seems and letting there ego's get the better of them.

I was thinking the same thing on the interception that was thrown in the direction of Delanie Walker. Walker didnt even try for the ball. I thought he was a wide receiver in college?

I got other things in my life, so I don't let football change my mood all week long anymore. Overall we're doing good, at this pace we will win the division. 66.6% = 12-4
It is the giants, but hopefully we'll see them in the playoffs. And that's when we will make them hurt.

The silver lining is that its very hard to beat the same team twice in the same year as evidence by last year's NFC Championship Game! So if we meet them in the playoffs again the odds are in our favour.

i got over it. the 49ers were getting over hype on national tv. i don't want them to be overrated like the ravens.
