The 49ers were offbalance vs the giants today. The 49ers started off with great offensive drives, but they were not converted into points. As long as the 49ers are not able to convert on 3rd downs and complete thier drives and score touchdowns the 49ers will loose the big games.

Dumb penalties, conservative play calling, QB who doesn't have the ability to scan the field and get the ball downfield unless he has like 10 seconds in the pocket.
yeah, they can put in another QB after a huge play and he can lose 11 yards...

Hard to blame Alex for this lose, even with all the ints. Roman putting kaep in on 2nd down, false start, Alex back in 3rd and long. 2nd Down, Sack, Alex 3rd and long, again 2 down kaep in for another sack Alex in 3rd and long. First down Busted play kaep, Second down Busted Play kaep, Alex in 3rd and long.... This was Romans fault you put Alex in and he forced passes because he had to convert a long down. Rather keep Alex in Run gore, Run gore again on second hmm 3 and 1 How about that Opps False start L. Davis, well 3rd and long again for Alex... Alll Day you want to put alex in the best chance to convert a first down and we didn't do that!
Not a single shot taken into the end zone. The defense is never going respect you if they know you're going to play small ball.
the qb flipping was retarded today. run the ball. play action pass and throw it to vd

enough of the other crap

They kept putting Kaepernick into really crucial moments of the game, and he failed almost in every single instance. Especially taking a sack after a big gain, putting us in 3rd and 17. People want to blame Alex, but Roman's playcalling kept putting him in impossible situations where he had to throw deep just to get first down. Kaepernick has to be used sparingly, and definitely not at important points of the game.

Two things from today's game from an offensive standpoint:

1. It doesn't matter how many weapons you bring in on offense, you have to have a quarterback that can make the right reads and get them the ball. I have said it once and I will say it again, Mario Manningham is the best threat we have in the passing game, Alex missed him twice today, one of the times was when he threw to Delaine down the sideline and got intercepted, Manningham was open down the middle. Hope this is addressed in film study on the short week and can somehow find a way to throw the ball to 82 a little more often.

2. Roman needs to pull his head out of his ass and stop getting to cute and focus on developing some continuity and chemistry on offense, learn to walk before you run sort of mentality. You can still use Kaep given the situation but damn, run for five on first down, Kaep in on second down negative play or penalty, 3rd and long bring alex back in and the offense is out of sync. Not defending Alex by any means because he played a poor game today, but this shuffling quarterbacks in and out every other play doesn't help him get in any sort of a rhythm with the offense.

3 things we need to get figured out for Thursday on offense:

1. Get back to our strengths, run the football, use that to set up our passing game. Pound gore up the middle and get hunter working the outside, play smash mouth football and dictate the tempo of the game.

2. Once we establish the run and are going to attack through the air, find ways to get 82 involved, this guy can run any route that is asked of him and is scary good against man coverage, get him involved and good things will happen.

3. Get Alex's confidence back, faced a good pass rush today, but he has to stay a little more poised and not have happy feet. Give him some simple throws early in the game, (slants, quick outs, and short curls), to get his confidence back and then gradually start to work the intermediate passing game a little more once he gains confidence back.

Short week, lets put this loss behind us and move on, every team has a bad day its all about how you respond. Looking forward to the game Thursday night and Go Niners.
No more Kaepernick! G-Ro killed us today.

I mean Alex-FAIL happened as well, but G-Ro was not helping.
We were out-coached.

The Oline lost the war to their DLine.

Our Dline couldn't get enough push to pressure Eli.

I really hate the Giants BUT Eli was excellent today.

This is why I question putting in Kaep in the first place. Kills drive momentum. That was a nice deep shot to Moss, then lose yardage on the very next play? Don't get it.

Oh I still blame Alex a lot for this one. Two of those INT's were AWFUL.
