is johnson gonna be available? dudes a beast. niners probably wont spend top dollar on crabs but an aging vet who is still a stud is what the niners have been signing in recent offseasons. i would not mind having andre, boldin and stevie next year if crabs cuts on us

This year includes his rookie year

Not including Cobb or Nicks because both have external circumstances (short NFL career, injuries)

Now lets look at Crabs

Michael Crabtree past 4 seasons have totaled
245 rec, 3004 yards, and 20 tds
On average that is
61, 751, 5 per season

Out of those listed WR, IMO, I put Crabs at the bottom
Crabtree is not in the same tier as the mentioned players above
Great stuff. I totally agree.

But take away the numbers and go off pure ability. He is better than several on that list. And that might be the argument that Crabs agents have. They will claim that those numbers are a product of a pure offense in SF for his first few years.

When Crabtree is healthy, I have no problem paying him 7-9 mil a year. A healthy Crabs is a guy you can build an offense around.
That is a big IF though.

I would say it is a small if.

Prior to last year, Crabtree missed one game because of injuries.

In 2011, Crabtree played in 15 regular season games.

In his career, Crabtree has missed 12 games because of injury.

In comparison, Demariyus Thomas has missed 11 games in his career. Thomas missed 6 games in 2010 and 5 games in 2011.

We'll see if the office is serious about keeping Crabtree in the fold and they extend him now or do they wait until 2015.

Could see something getting worked on or done soon now that Kaepernick is done.

Matt Barrows tweeted this:

Kaepernick has a low-low salary-cap number in 2014, which may mean the #49ers will try to do another extension this year.
Why isn't DJax on anyone's list for top wr's. O wait he went to the redskins where careers die but you get more money than you would else where.

So in your guys opinion what would be a fair deal for both Crabtree and the Niners?
5 years $45.5 million.

That seems like an awful lot.

Seems about right. Similar to what Greg Jennings got from the Vikings, and Jennings has been the more productive player. Both are injury prone.

Yeah true. But wasn't Jennings deal considered high at the time? I need to look up WR salaries.
