hey niner fan i know we lost but we can move on maybe it will show us every week we need to kick ass and take names later , my question is if jim is like the great bill walsh in coaching styles , i know the run is supposed to set up the pass, then why don't we not utilize the play action and to go deep more in the in second halves of games

I believe Walsh's west coast theory was pass to set up the run.

I believe Walsh's west coast theory was pass to set up the run.
More specifically, it was pass to build a lead and then run to protect it, all while controlling time of possession. Harbaugh has a different coaching style. They still call it WCO due to using the same terminology, but the play-calling/formations are very different. This is a power-run/play-action offense that uses many different personnel packages. Walsh's offense from what I can remember was 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB, 1 FB, almost all the time.
We do call play action quite a bit. It just doesn't seem like it because the ball often gets checked down or we have breakdowns in pass pro.

Thanks for clarifying that. I always thought it was pass, pass, pass, so the defense starts to play deep, THEN sneak in a run so the back can break one free.
