Typical preseason overreaction, LMJ will catch up as soon as the pro game slows down to him.

It's his usual try to turn it into an Alex thread or use someone else to push his points, his usual agenda. Your act is so old fly.
And it's way to early for a thread about James not being impressive.

Regardless of what people say or think, these high picks (AJ Green & LMJ) don't need to perform at a high level this year. These picks were made for the future. All they need to show is progress in learning the system and getting their bodies to NFL level.

I haven't been blown away either, but he looks damn good running that handoff option with Kaepernick. It plays right into their strengths. James will probably be catching balls out of the backfield once the season starts. We're just seeing some vanilla stuff on both sides o the ball.
I was mainly hoping to see James and/or Kyle excel in the return game, which would make Ginn expendable, opening up another WR spot. At this point, Ginn's job looks pretty secure.

AJ Green will make the ProBowl. Too bad it'll be with the Bungles, not us.

Watching LMJ in college he ran inside and outside and was awesome. When someone with his skill set comes to the pros there is a period of adjustment. When I grew up a player of LMJ's size was labeled a scat back. They were never asked to carry the entire load, most of the time they were return men. That has changed, they are now being asked to carry a full workload. He reminds me of Reggie Bush in a way, both came out of college super fast but small. Bush must have bulked up because last year he was running up the middle. LMJ seems dedicated and wants to excel. let's see how his body adapts to the pro game in the next few years. He'll have to get bigger if he wants an expanded role.

I think he will be fine but I'm not expecting much from him this year. Next year will be his time to shine.

If you go back and look at his carries, aren't they all between the tackles? This is preseason, a time to work on deficiencies. Do things you don't accel at and DON'T make game film on the things your players do well. I expect if LMJ is active in the regular season we'll see him getting the ball in space more (screen, sweep, stretch plays).

Thank you...does get old!
James will be fine once he gets up to NFL speed. He is too good a player not to unless injuries hit. He is a different kind of RB than Hunter though so it is a good combination. Right now he is thinking about each step of each play, instead of reacting instinctively. Toward the middle or end of the year I would expect some electric plays from the guy. Hunter is more of an all purpose back, less explosive and more consistent at this point.
It is funny that folks want to dissect a rookie with six carries though...guess it comes with being a second rounder.

CK is the 5th leading rushing so far this pre season
26 ypc
It's pretty clear they need to move him to running back
championship

How did Aldon Smith go during his rookie preseason? Can anyone remember anything that stood out good or bad? I only remember his body of work during the season. LMJ will be fine.

Preseason - Much ado about nothing.
He'll be just fine and have an excellent season.
We NOW have the right coaching staff to do the job properly.

this year he should catch passes from backfield and screens and come in on passing situations where he runs routes also a couple plays in slot.
i dont think he is ready physically to actually run the ball yet he also needs to adjust to nfl speed but in open apce you wont be able to sop him

First let me say, even though I live in Oregon, and my son attends the UofO, I was not a fan of this pick.
Yes James looks like a boy among men, because he is, he is a rookie, and still growing. He will be fine.
Yes he looks a little lost at times, he is used to being much faster tahn every one else on the field, now he isn't, he will be fine.
You have undoubtedly believed the hype, He will be fine
Yes James was brought here to add some pop to the offense, but that job belongs the Hunter, who will also be fine.
James is basically Hunters back up and a part time player, until he develops no worries, because Hunter is looking more and more like a top flight change of pace, he reminds me of Reggie Bush with heart, now it is up to James to become a better Darren Sproles, he will be fine.
