But Dixon is apparently willing to prove he can be physical. And he has asked if he can see some action at fullback.
In my opinion, he needs this. He isn't great, but isn't necessarily bad. We just have SO much depth at RB. He is currently the 5th string RB.

Honestly I don't know about him playing fullback. You have to have a certain mentality to play that position because of its physical nature and lack of carrying the ball. IMO Dixon doesn't have what it takes to play fullback. I don't think he is a great blocker and when he was playing in games he wasn't physical in short yardage situations. He danced through the hole instead of just hitting it straight on with reckless abandon. I think he sees he is on his way out and is just trying to stick around in some shape or form. Wonder if the Seahags sign him when he is cut.lol

He is not gonna make the team. He is desperately trying to find some way to make the team.

Remember when LeGarrette Blount backed out of a UDFA deal because he though our backfield of Gore, Dixon and Coffee was too deep, then Coffee retired, we signed westbrook, now look at our backfield, Gore, Hunter, Jacobs, James and Dixon, clearly a difference a few seasons make.

I think this is counter productive for him.
I know this view is not shared by everyone here, but I actually thought he showed a lot at RB the year before last, when his weight was down. Last year he was heavier and I think it hurt his running.
What I liked about him as a RB was that he's a big back that runs like smaller back, able to make cuts and juke defenders. But when he's carrying more weight he doesn't do those things well.
If he tries to get reps at FB he won't lose weight. I know the position is crowded, but I think if he dropped weight and played like he did 2 years ago he would have a shot.

Agree with this...he is not playing to his strengths at FB. He is not a bull type runner nor is he known for his blocking. That is quite a change for him and I don't see him making it in one training camp. Down the road perhaps...with a different team.

I hope he gets a chance with another team. I love his personality and emotion

Glen Coffee -- what a bizarre story he had. I had high hopes for him when he was on the team. Reminded me of Roger Craig a little.

No chance he hangs as a rb. No chance he hangs as a fb. No chance we keep him just as a special teams player. Take your twitter garbage elsewhere.
