Disagree. And I don't think a link to a blog site counts as a logical argument.

I was wrong about that. Ginn stays for another year but am thinking someone else will take that spot next year. In any case we have done a nice job of getting quality depth in case ginn goes down, cox and the rock can do the job and if the two kids and williams pan out, that is just gravy. i thank good posters like you and nc for making me see my error in judgement or rush to judgement in regards to ginn and his future this year with our team
I don't see anyone replacing Ginn this year. Using a rookie or young guy who has proven nothing over the long haul of a season would be a great risk. Ginn is top two or three in the league in a very under-appreciated job.
Even if Jenkins or James looked really good, do you put your team's success in the hands of a rookie? No!

Thank you for reminding me about the sweeps and end arounds as he is very very valuable in that area. Yes i was a bit to harsh when I called him a one dimensional player. thank you for keeping me on the up and up as we say in iowa
Agree...and he adds experience as a WR in this offense (did better than most think too) and there is so much you can do with his speed (fly sweeps screens, post pattern deep threat, clearing out space, etc.). If a Moss doesn't pan out or Manningham has an injury, Alex knows he can trust him out there esp. on 3rd downs. That makes his value more than just a returner. Plus by retaining him, you push the others to truly step up their games as receivers to vie for playing time. And lets not forget that returning punts/kick offs in Candlestick is one of the hardest things to do esp. come playoff time.

No worries! Players sometimes get type-casted and after "watching the film" I wanted to point out his value a little more as a receiver and the ill effects of not having his speed on the field for the NFCCG (as an example). The GM/Coaches clearly saw the need...a need for speed (as a result) and went out and got it.
That said, you never know...it's still very early...I'd hate to be the coaches to make the calls on some of these players. We're going to have to let go of quite a few really good guys.

Players are cut at this point in time due to thier work they do or do not do in the off season, otas, training camp etc. What has kyle williams done or not done to make you think he will be cut. If the season started tomorrow, the kid we drafted would be cut based upon off season work and how they have done so far in otas but we all know that will not happen. You have read the stories and have heard how much kyle has worked in the off season and is probably third or at the very least 4th on the depth chart. he has done nothing to warrant being cut and you all know it. we know why some want him cut but that is just wishfull thinking about something that is long in the past and is not a contributing factor right now as we move forward. so tell me, what has he done to warrant being cut right now? the answer is nothing and you all know it.... Now back to ginn, unless they have someone they know can return punts and kicks he stays but if someone like kyle or cox or one of the kids we drafted shows they can do the job to the coaches in camp and pre season and if the kid we picked at number one gets better,, than ginn could be gone
this
and a*****e Kyle Williams will be cut.
He wont be cut today, he will probably be cut in final cuts after training camp. Mainly because the numbers at his position and the fact he is huge liability in the return game.

This deep and talented roster won't suffer one-dimensional players in 2012. I doubt Ginn will make this team, especially if LaMichael James proves dangerous in the return game and Cox proves adequate.
Bring it on
