It was so funny after season before last ended and everyone on here was straight up killing Davis. I tried to come to the rescue to defend him by telling everyone how young the kid is and was just thrown in there at Right Tackle (position he did not play in college) and struggled some. Oh nooooo people did not want to hear that b******t but I am glad he muted a lot of people with his play last year. He really stepped up his game and what I like about him he dont take s**t from nobody (watch the Lions match up) and is funny as hell. I am a big Anthony Davis fan and new the guy would come on strong. Needs to improve a little bit on his pass protection but he is a really decent Right Tackle. IMO I think that he should be switched to left at his natural position and have Joe Staley play right like he did his rookie year just to see if there is an improvement.

Its kind of funny how everyone is awesome this time of year. If Davis does indeed make a big jump in his play as we are expecting with Boone at guard our line will be beast. Obviously the jury is still out on whomever ends up at RG but this is very promising! Lets get two fatties on the top 100 next year!!

I will be the first to admit, I was critical of the Anthony Davis draft pick, especially when they traded up to get him with Earl Thomas on the board. That being said he has been durable, a starter from day 1, and is only 22 years old going into his third season. Hopefully he stays motivated, the communication between him and Boone pays off, and the right side of the lines play equals the left side.
How nice will it be for Alex to snap the ball and after one second be able to set his feet and look at targets instead of set feet, look scramble.

People were not "killing him", as you say. They had every right to complain about him missing blocks, while ALSO already understanding that he was extremely young and thrown right into the fire.

Theres nothing wrong with any of that, but you cant really take any of his opinions on his players seriously though. he gives the media generic answers to all their questions, and tells them each and every player on his team is the best in the NFL at what they do. Its just his way of dealing with a pestering media that is looking for every chance to pull him into a tirade.
Its just with that style comes the inability to take much away from his comments. Davis probably is doing better than before. Hes a talented player learning from a top tier coaching staff, who is another year more experienced. Im just not going to get my hopes up for Davis just because Harbaugh had nice things to say.
Its possible that Coach Hargaughs comments are a bit exaggerated, but I believe there is truth to what he is saying about Davis and all the players he praises.
He didn't have a problem saying the rookie's needed to get in shape. I believe if Davis needed to work harder or wasn't showing some type of improvement in his technique, Coach would have no problem speaking on it. He may sugar coat it, but I believe he would speak on it.

No dude they WERE ripping him really hard. There were several of people on here like "really guys". I wish I could pull the thread up to see for yourselves. Either way it does not matter he is playing great now lets move on.

There are guys on here who would stone Jesus should he reappear. But generally, those of us who were critical also understood how young he is and regretted having to throw him into a starting role as a rookie. Other than Goodwin the 9ers line is still very young...which bodes well for the future...but I said that last off season as well!!
Davis' development has been impeded by less than stellar performance at RG. If they can get someone to own that position I believe Davis will be a lot better. Still would like to see the best five linemen on the field every down, and still think Davis would be phenomenal at RG...contained space.
But however it works, having an entire off season to work on the oline should really help.

lol, I think you're right. AD has the best feet. Crab's good foot is the 3rd best foot he's ever seen. His bad foot, however, is a different story...
