You guys looking at average need to realize that his average is hurt by the number of times we punt in enemy territory and he still downs it within the 10-yard-line.

not just that.
how many times did we see this situation last year.
Andy pins them inside the 5.
opposing team is scared of our pass rush, scared to take a safety so they run the ball three times.
Willis and Bowman go ape sh*t and KO whoever the FK is running the ball.
their punter has to punt the ball standing in the back of their own endzone... (which typically end up being a bad punt).
Ginn makes a nice return.
we're already near/in FG range.
(ps - there's already a thread for alex smith)

Andy Lee DESERVES to be paid as one of the top 2 punters in the league. The man is a beast. We all know how important he was to us last season in the field position battle.

Normally I would say who cares he is just a punter, but he is easily one of the most important players on the team. He is the reason we consistently won the field position battle and constantly gave offenses long fields no matter where he punted from. I probably just missed it but has this guy ever had a bad punt? Seems like everything he ever touched ended up inside the 20 if not the 10.

1:08 what a throw! lol
2:10.... antonio brown is like I f**ked up.... it's like a sea of red coming at him and he kept retreating. Anyways, Andy along with our coverage team changed the field position for us so many times last year. No doubt it helped us win many of our games.

I remember when he held out for more money for a couple days a few seasons ago.
Glad he's resigned

Worth every penny. And one player less to worry about come offseason 2013.
Now the team will need to decide whether they want to extend Sopoaga and Goldson in the coming months. Would be nice, if we feel they are long term players, to get Sopoaga and Goldson also extended, and only really have to worry about Bowman and J.Smith on Defense, and Iupati on offense. Whitner and Akers should be extended when time comes.
