I wonder if Baalke is going to shock us and trade Hunter instead of James. I think they would get more in return for Hunter, and he is in his last year.

If these workouts are voluntary, why is he losing money?

I believe they put this in a bunch of the Niner players contracts to attend so much of the voluntary workouts to receive bonus money instead of base salary.

You know, they may find a way to hold onto this guy throughout 2014 if he plays decently enough. Kendall Hunter is in the last year of his contract and could get more playing time and money elsewhere. Frank Gore is in his last year(s). It'll be interesting to see this play out. Especially if, shockingly, James actually works to improve his game to EARN more playing time.

I'm starting to come to this realization, and for similar reasons:
- Marcus Lattimore's health is still a question mark, and his ability to contribute to the 2014 season.
- Frank Gore's engine may be slowing down with his age and mileage.
- James is still the fastest player in our RB unit
More importantly, if James does well in the pre-season, he boosts his trade value. If he doesn't, then he'll most likely end up being cut. And with all the question marks above, I don't mind missing out on a 7th round pick to ensure security of talent and depth at the RB position.

Some other team may lose a RB in training camp.
I think a 7th round pick is all we could get.
Then again, it's Baalke doing the trading - maybe a 5th??

James use of the social media irks me.
What I see in his return skill set baffles me.
When it comes to James, I lack any objectivity.
I have less empathy for him than any other player on the team, and my feeling have no concrete basis.

If Coach would have used LMJ as a sproles type back, ie get the ball to him in space, then I would have liked the pick. But no, where is he used? Between tackles, where he likes to run, but just isn't big or good enough to be a solid #1 RB. The fact JH never used LMJ in space says that he just isn't interested in that kind of O...which is his decision. That being the case, not using LMJ in space, the pick at #2 was a bad one. I was completely fooled in that I rejoiced when his name was called. Finally a back to be used like sproles. Unh unh. Never apparently even considered, and hence, we got a RB to run between tackles, who really isn't that kind of NFL back. That kind of back is frank, hunter, dix. So the glad handing and props LMJ got during the draft told me he is on the cusp of getting traded. Just an opinion. But when I hear my HC and GM both sing the praises of a guy we rarely saw...well, you have to believe your lying eyes then.

This little dipsh*t just wont shut up always crying & complaining bout something he's lucky to still be on this team he reminds me of Brandon Jacobs b*tching on Social Media & crying to the Media as well, i hope someone really emerges during training camp as a returner that way we can cut him or trade him before the season starts. Sick of his whining.

I can't stand him. His fumble in the super bowl killed all of our momentum, and he continues to whine on twitter every few weeks. Just cut the brat already.

I wish thye'd just get rid of him. Every time he catches a punt I swear I'm cringing because he seems to be fumble prone. I mean, did you see his fumble during a punt against Seattle? Not only did he not catch it he got decked and hurt.

Screw that. Some people are entitled and don't want to work for their accolades. LMJ is one of those people. You want to play? Be better than Gore, or Hunter, or Lattimore, or Hyde. Learn to pass block. Learn to be a team player. He's such a whiny little b***h.

Agree. I have no problem with LMJ being frustrated with his small role. He should be. I have a problem with him constantly complaining to the media, and on twitter. His reasoning is he doesn't want to lie. Nobody is asking him to lie. He often whines unprovoked. Just keep that s**t between yourself and the team.
