Umm hello! This is a rookie who had a week of trainning camp, and a minamal chunk of a complex playbook to Make Sir Isaac Newton Sweat. And your complaining about how he looked in preseason? Alex performed worse than CK7, plus alex has 7years more experience on him. I'm positive Alex will be sitting the pine by week 4.

Umm...hiya, I wanna ask what you are smoking and if you have any for sale because that s**t must be the chronic.
Alex had a lower QB Rating than Colin in the preseason.....Alex was near the bottom of all NFL QBs Starting or backup for preseason.

Alex showed drastic improvement during the regular season....and Colin did his part as well when ever given the chance in the regular season as well. He was accurate against the Bucs when he came in. Colin was a rookie....for him to show improvement after also dealing with that crazy preseason should show that you don't have to be on chronic to see that Colin can also learn from Harbaugh...like Alex has.

no he didn't.

Alex Smith: 48.1
Colin Kaepernick: 23.9

let's not let bias get in the way of actual stats.

CK is the hope for the future, will he pan out? Who knows? But barring disaster, there is no way he is starting week four. Someone is really high if they really think that. Colin should continue to improve since we actually have a coach that knows how to, but even with improvement he looked not ready for prime time.

Guys, this thread is for Josh Johnson or Colin Kaepernick discussions. It is not to discuss Alex Smith. We have a thread for that. Stick to topic or I will issue warnings and lock this thread.
Now back to Johnson or Kap.
Thank U!

You sure do keep talking about weed a lot and assuming other's are taking it. I'm almost wondering if you are on the wrong webpage. We are here to discuss football. Not DR.dre and Snoop Dogg's greatest midnight toking hits.... Reason why I say week 4, is because I have a feeling Alex is going to get hurt (Not wishing that for anyone by no means). He took way to many sacks last year and it is rare for him to make it through a season. If he goes down for 4-5weeks. I feel that's enough time to seal the starting job with stamp CK7! 4-5 game win streak offense running on all cylinders, defense playing with an invigorating new energy, Harbaugh giving more hard shake's and back slaps more than ever. But note this is all IMHO

I'd Josh Johnson, hes got 5 game experience with 4 years in the league, while Kaepernick is still trying to learn how to take snaps and make NFL read from under center.

To be fair, You have disliked Colon since BEFORE drafted him

Good find boast. I think these numbers still show how silly preseason stats are. Our whole team played like garbage during the preseason including Alsx and Colin, but come the regular season when we were game planning, we looked great.

I'm in the minority here but I'd be stoked if CK were our starter.
I say we send them both to the Pitching specialist Alex went to see...

it sure aint pretty but it comes out quicker than Alex's ball and it hums so I won't complain about it.

I think his overall release is slower, but once the ball goes, it goes like a brett favre throw in the 90s.

He will have to do more than just win games. This team should be able to roll with any competent QB. I hope that Colin comes in ready because # 2 is his to lose

well its not bias, actually I try to be accurate when stating things on this forum...or else I would be OWNED all the time..lol.... I know some would love to do that.

but yeah this is where I got that info from....

Five QBs who shouldn't have better stats than Alex Smith

"of all 110 quarterbacks who've played in this preseason, Smith ranks 105th with a rating of 33.0 (one spot behind the other 49ers QB, Colin Kaepernick)."

edit- oh ok, now I see...that article was written leading into the final preseason game of the season, where Alex played his best. So besides that last game, Alex was indeed behind Colin in QB rating.

but again, it just shows preseason isn't really a good indicator...or more so, preseason after a shortened off-season.

That was before the final Preseason game.
