Manningham is going to hold on and Moss is going to sink. I'm excited we held onto Gin, signed all of the defense, and got J. Johnson to compete. It'd be hard to ask for a better off season.

Very impressed with the FO this FA period. every time I think they are done or wont do something they go do something that just makes sense, or at least heightens my anticipation for this year.. What a difference..!!

like what? pay 55 mil for jackson, over pay disgustingly for meachem, robinson or garcon? give 6 mil a yr to morgan? only deal i wouldve been ok with is 3 yrs for royal but he didnt even get to us. moss is a 1 yr boom or bust signing and since hes on his last shot he most likely will play hard being on a winning team with a coach like harbaugh, and manningham can be a sleeper signing knowing that hes playing for a long term contract. those are 2 contracts that will make those players ball hard knowing that theyre playing for another contract
The Ginn signing is not making me real happy. I thought we were over the "only ST" guys signings. Moss is a gamble and Manningham has been a #3 his entire career. With a stacked roster at 5 WR's I'm not sure how much Trent sees the position being a high priority now in the draft. Come game day we will probably only dress 4 maybe 5 guys...Crabtree, Ginn, Moss would be locks. I was really wanting a shot of youth from the draft and wanted 2 new guys brought in..unless we cut Williams I don't see that happening now.
Like I said in the thread I made earlier, I would rather commit long term to say Ginn so we know he is locked for 4 years, then play this short term contract "game" on every WR . If they aren't worth longer commitments why keep them? We know what Ginn can do, either keep him long term for ST duties or let him go and find another player to take his spot. It's like we are in limbo at the WR position.

The FA season is going great.
Great resignings.....the whole defense and Ted Ginn, Great resignings.
Moss, Cox are wildcards for cheap.
Josh Johnson brings a player Harbaugh likes a lot back to the team. I see this as competition, he gets to groom another player for value, for very little. We have the best quarterbacking squad that we've had in a long time. Even with this new competition, I see Alex Smith winning the job this year. It may bring the toughest Alex Smith out yet.
By the way, FA is not over, but I think they are mostly done with signings unless it's a guard.
Plus we get the draft too......
I'm thinking
1st TE (Fleener) or WR (Hill) or Guard like Glenn or Zeitzer
2nd Guard or WR
3rd WR if it's not been taken, or Safety
4th Turbin RB or another RB

I would feel much better if we got some depth at guard i dont know if Kilgore is ready to step into the starting roll just yet...........We should focus on getting a RG instead of worrying bout adding more depth at the QB position

Need 4 more HOF caliber WRs, a new TE (trade Vernon Davis for a box of donuts, he can't adjust his routes, just ask dj43), a second and third stud HOF caliber TE, 2-3 new HOF caliber RBs, and 5 HOF caliber offensive linemen, plus at least 3-4 Pro Bowl caliber backups. Now, if all 5 offensive linemen were to go down, that would obviously make it an unfair situation for Alex Smith, with only 4 Pro Bowlers to fill in...in that case, we'd just have to blame whoever that 5th lineman is and hope for better next year...maybe sign or draft a 5th Pro Bowl caliber offensive lineman.
We also need this defense to get much better. Allowing more than 100 points in a season is unacceptable. We need to be holding opponents to no more than 7 points per game, so Alex doesn't have to win the game all by himself.

Solid so far, only concern is right guard which I can see being addressed in the first or second round.

Feel pretty good. Kept the entire starting defense. Got Ginn back who was huge for us in field positioning. Alex Smith has a chance to improve or show that he is not the future. Kaepernick will get a full of season. Josh Morgan is a player most will miss but Manningham has been a more productive player. Excited to see what we do in the draft.
Glad we didnot resign Snyder/Rachal really believe Kilgore will be an upgrade.

You could not ask our front office for any more, They addressed every position of need except gaurd ( which could still happen) with either a quality resign, or a value for the dollar guy off the street. And then they went and added low risk high reward players at corner, WR, and QB. They have used free agency to put themselves in a postion to truely draft BPA in every round and have not mangled our cap. The teams on the field performance remains to be seen, but to my mind the suits are not only holding up their end of the deal, they are setting a standard of excellence the last two years for how you approach building a team, you reinforce for the current year with free agents and build for the future in the draft.

I am really happy. Really improved the team, tried for an upgrade at QB which is understandable considering he is a first ballot HOF. Missed out, no biggie, signed the QB we thought we would get anyways.
Happy today because they added the PR in Ginn, I was worried about that.
Kept Goldson, was worried about that.
Moss and Manningham should help a lot.
Johnson adds depth and competition.
Looking forward to the draft now.

If you would have told me this at the beginning of FA and I would have thought we lose Rogers and Ahamad Brooks both and probably don't get any decent WR's. Just didn't think we could afford it. They kept a lot of their own key players, signed other FA's and didn't overpay for anybody. They only have 1 - 2 needs come draft time plus depth and special teams contributors. Just amazing IMO. I'd give it an A grade.
This. Once we get a RG I'll feel good about thigns.
