Let people enjoy the 49ers success the way they want. The more casual fans, the more money coming into the franchise, the more they can improve this team, stadium, fan experience, etc. It's all good.
What kind of hipster elitism is this?
Amen. Besides that im just looking forward to hearing the next generation of kids talking as fondly of the niners as those whove seen the glory years do. (Im 2002 garcia to owens fan lol) so i can empathize i jumped on the bandwagon 2002. i probably picked a real bad time to choose a team but F it im just happy to share the joy
Every single member of this forum jumped on "the bandwagon" at one point in time. Whether it was the Kezar days, the 80s or Garcia/Owens.
Everybody has to start somewhere as a 49er fan. Why not now?
There is never a bad time to start. All aboard!

There are always those groups of casual fans that like whose winning now and will change to a different team once someone else comes up. In attempting the weed out the real faithful from the bang wagon jumpers ill usually strike up a conversation about Adam Walker and the 1995-96 division playoff game against the packers. If they cringe you know they have been around a while. If they look lost they just got here.
Why you gotta bring that shyt up
i object to this... i was only 3 years old when that game happened lol how am i suppose to cringe to something i wouldnt be able to remember if i wanted to?
want me to prove my loyalty... iv been a fan since 2004... lol iv never seen this team have a winning season.. iv only seen like 6 east coast wins in my life... lol iv been through the rough s**t.. im stoked for this winning season.. first one of my life.. and hopefully the first of many.

I dunno how the hell people (like me) stuck with the team during the Rattay-Dorsey-Pickett era.

I don't mind bandwagoners... as long as they sit in the back. All the good seats are reserved for the faithful.

Of course people jump on when a team is doing well, most of us did. I did back in the 90's. The issue isn't when you join, it is whether you stick around when things go south.

I remember guys like GoToSalaryCapHell, NolanNonsense and JordanTaber. I wonder what happened to them.
They graduated to the banned forum.

The more the merrier. It would be awesome if the 49ers had as large a fan base as the Steelers or Cowboys. Imagine the national coverage they'd get.
