The training fields predate the stadium by decades. The specific area they are revising was last changed in 2006. In other words, the practice field has nothing to do with the stadium build.

He showed up at a practice in late October as reported by Grant Cohn.
That doesn't validate SD's conclusions related to the visit of course.

Denise Debartolo York = Cheap.
Dr. John York = Very, very Cheap.
Jed York = Overspend, reckless with money, win nothing, reigned back in by parents. Especially John who controls the checkbook.

The investment arm of the organization, 49ers Enterprises, also is expected to add Scottish soccer club Rangers to its portfolio in the near future. York said nothing has been finalized.
In July 2023, 49ers Enterprises took over full ownership of English soccer club Leeds United.
York said the finances of the 49ers and their soccer interests are independent of each other.
The Yorks aren't rich enough for all these entries to be independent of each other. I lived through the maloof who owned the kings, a Vegas casino, and beer distributorships. They use to say the same thing about their other ventures. Bad decisions forced them to sell everything, including the kings.
Towards the end, they were selling off businesses and scrimping Pennie's to try to say this business or that business. It was a total S Show. They slashed contracts and eventually tried to move the kings to save their asses.
Maloofs were big risk takers. I guess that would be George Maloof who was the biggest driving force behind it. But they were involved in a lot of different things. Beer distributorship was the original fortune and ironically would have kept them wealthy. But they went into Casinos (Palms) and Sports (Kings). A lot of stuff started to crash around them. They were over extended. Trying to float too many different companies at once. Eventually it collapsed and they got a CHEAP reputation.
Sound familiar?
Errr, no. I don't see any point of comparison. At all. All I see are two or three posters following one of the worst of the internet click-merchants by repeatedly accusing the owners of being cheap. When asked to produce justification, they can't. It becomes simply a chorus of abuse.

Again no facts what so ever just your opinions. But i did see you walking back your previous statement of Jed York being cheap to now he overspends and reckless with his money. LOL
Wins nothing is a little brutal huh? Since he's taken over the team they have been to 3 Super Bowls. Most owners haven't been to one. Oh well he hasn't won it so i guess he's a loser according to some guy on the internet who hasn't won anything either.

I agree. The ownership has built a very competitive and entertaining team.

I don't think the 49ers have been cheap. They got the stadium built in a place that has some of the highest property values in the nation. Yes they had financial assistance but they did it without needing a bond measure that put the taxpayers on the hook. It may not be as lavish as SOFI or the Raidrs new plce but it's still really nice inside. Lot's of amenities . TVs everywhere so fans that leve their seats can follow the actions. Lot's of places to get food. Great site lines for the game.
I wish I could be that cheap.

I doubt SD has never won anything. I'm willing to bet he has some trophies for hot dog eating contests and cheetos.

Looks like Leeds United is going to be promoted to the premier league. The Yorks are about to dish out some serious serious money the next few years in order to not get relegated again like the previous owner did. The previous owner did not spend and they were out of the premier league in 2 years and the Yorks have promised that that would not be the case this time.
The 49ers are not in danger of getting relegated anywhere and they know their fans aren't going anywhere. A couple of down seasons? So what, the fans aren't going anywhere! I wonder which venture is going to take precedence?

You know there are cap minimums they need to spend, right?

And?
Did the last 5 years happen because the 49ers were
only meeting the cap minimum? No.
IMO, longtime fans have seen lean years before and I think we are about to see them again. But hey, I am a big soccer fan too so I am extremely curious to see what kind of renovations the Yorks do to Leeds home field and what they are able to do in the premier league.
If even a powerhouse franchise like Manchester United can slip into the lower half of the premier league it will be extremely interesting to see how the Yorks intend to compete and stay in the premier league.
