Yeah it's usually when Dr. John York comes to the facility that things go downhill. Like this time. It's a pattern we have seen in the past many times.
Saw they are interested in selling 10% of their ownership. Are they trying to scrounge up cash ?

The investment arm of the organization, 49ers Enterprises, also is expected to add Scottish soccer club Rangers to its portfolio in the near future. York said nothing has been finalized.

In July 2023, 49ers Enterprises took over full ownership of English soccer club Leeds United.

York said the finances of the 49ers and their soccer interests are independent of each other.

The league just recently allowed for this, and you will see all the teams doing it. Easy way for each owner to get easy revenue without losing control of their franchise.

Packers have the best idea. they sell shares to fans, and the shares confer no ownership stake. cheeseheads paying for scraps of paper from the club.

The Yorks aren't rich enough for all these entries to be independent of each other. I lived through the maloof who owned the kings, a Vegas casino, and beer distributorships. They use to say the same thing about their other ventures. Bad decisions forced them to sell everything, including the kings.
Towards the end, they were selling off businesses and scrimping Pennie's to try to say this business or that business. It was a total S Show. They slashed contracts and eventually tried to move the kings to save their asses.

yeah that's the kings, they are from sactown, which is farm country. the 49ers are from silicon valley, probably the greatest concentration of wealth in the history of the planet. vs citrus heights and orangevale. i'm partial to the farm country myself, but we are talking finances here. follow the money.

Maloofs were big risk takers. I guess that would be George Maloof who was the biggest driving force behind it. But they were involved in a lot of different things. Beer distributorship was the original fortune and ironically would have kept them wealthy. But they went into Casinos (Palms) and Sports (Kings). A lot of stuff started to crash around them. They were over extended. Trying to float too many different companies at once. Eventually it collapsed and they got a CHEAP reputation.

Sound familiar?
