New Principle Owner Jed York Thread

Are the reports from sports sources I'm locked out of (PAYWALLS) really true? Is Jed York taking control away from Shanahan? Or are these writers just pulling nuggets from their collective butts and claiming to have struck gold? In other words, is there ANY source at all that confirms this? Not the dreaded "never to be named source" or "insiders say." We all know that is pure BS. The writer is making crap up. But, are there sources confirming these reports? That Shanahan's control has been severely controlled? York is now calling the shots on everything that Shanahan once controlled? Mods, can you weigh in?

from the BBC:
"In the past 15 years, 42% of all promoted teams have dropped back to the Championship in the first season. That rises to 50% in the past decade.
One source with knowledge of the inner workings of Leeds explained the issue the club had on their last three-year stay in the Premier League was that then-owner Andrea Radrizzani just didn't have the funds to kick on.
Radrizzani's shares were bought by the 49ers Enterprises when they took over Leeds in the summer of 2023, The investment arm of the American football franchise San Francisco 49ers is also attempting to buy a significant stake in Glasgow Rangers.
They proved that they have the finance by methodically working through what has been described as the massive 'credit card bill' of instalment payments for transfers from a sizeable churn of players in and out of Elland Road.
Two of Farke's mainstays, Joe Rothwell and Manor Solomon, are on loan and will need to be bought or replaced, so the bill for a decent shot at survival is going to be astronomical."
not only are they gonna be dishing out money for players, they also want to revamp their home field. The pressure is already on to spend the money that will be needed to STAY in the premier league. I wish the Yorks hadn't made this foray into soccer. You can't even with a Super Bowl! Why get into the high stakes world of premier league soccer too?
Ugh

"According to reports, changes within the 49ers organization in recent weeks have drastically reduced Shanahan's role in personnel decisions."
This line comes from an article on the Webzone. It links to an article that sits behind a paywall. Does anyone know if this article from the Athletic actually quoted anyone? Other than the fall back "inside sources say?" Does Jed York make the statement that he has "drastically reduced Shanahan's role?" Or did someone from the Athletic dream up something blatantly wrong again?

Tim Kawakami and Mike Silver have been reporting this for almost a month.

Mike Silver quotes nobody. He made it up. Nobody went on record to announce this. Every other reporter has followed up on Silver, reporting it as fact. Yet, they have zero sources.
When did the job of sports reporting get so bad? When will it finally hit bottom?

1. Tim kawakami is a clown who has hated the 49ers ever since he went on his rampage against harbaugh.
2. I highly doubt Kyle shanahan would give up personnel decisions to someone else. even if it was lynch. he doesn't seem like the kind of coach that would let someone else build his team. this is his team an his players that's why we can only come in 2nd place. he doesn't believe in a strong OL.

Have read anything he's written in the Shanahan era? Because if you have, you'd know that he's offered consistent praise for this regime and even York.

He's mostly a cheerleader like Lombardi. If you want truth you listen to Grant Cohn. He even interviews his dad Lowell Cohn. Who I believe is retired now. But comes on some of his podcasts and YouTube videos. I enjoy their discussions very much.

Grant Cohn lays out the obvious. Things that the homers want to ignore. He was the one that pointed to Deebo's eventual departure early on. He got into it with Kinlaw because he called him out on being not good enough. He pushes Shanny's buttons because he asks him questions about game management etc.
the masses here prefer guys like Lombardi that just pat Kyle on the back no matter what he does.

That's great news if true. Because he's awful at that.

Eddie DeBartolo, Jr's "family" is interested in buying the Rays…hmmmm
They would quickly win the World Series and build a beautiful stadium. All the players in the league would want to play there. For a WINNER!
I'm so jealous!
Maybe he can trade the Rays to the Yorks and get the 49ers back!!!
