Is it time to bring back the airplane banners??In case you forgot:

the best one was "JED & 49ERS SHOULD MUTUALLY PART WAYS"

I'm glad to see that Jed's properly getting the blame for this dumpster fire. I'd just like to know if the Tampa Rays have anything to do with this. Will we find out much later that Denise is investing with Eddie....

They haven't even attempted to add anything that I would categorize as a supplemental player besides Robinson and he might be suspended.

You can't just expect 11 unknown draft picks to take on meaningful snaps and be competitive. There's a reason why most yrs this team fills holes with at least supplemental talent prior to the draft.

Definitely agree there, and I don't expect it. I will say I think having an unusually successful draft is the only thing that gets us a shot at being a contender next year. Whether that does or does not happen, I don't think adding players like Joey Bosa would make a real difference anyway. And they're usually short term adds meaning you're replacing them in the near future anyway.

I'll hope for a wildly successful draft on defense and our offense to rebound in terms of efficiency. Should be a pretty good team if that happens regardless of free agency. I'll expect* next year to be a transitional/buiding year where we won't be a real contender and maybe push for a playoff spot in a weaker NFC where 7 teams make the playoffs.

100 percent. I wish someone would call this BS out like that. You have to wonder what is going through all of their minds right now. Especially ownership. They have to know the fanbase isn't happy with what their seeing right now. Do they even care? At least in the past things like the plane got Jed's attention while he was younger and looking to build his own legacy. Would he even care anymore?

lol I was thinking the same thing, a little to early but yeah York went away for a long time after all that. Seems like he's just starting to feel comfortable in stepping back in. Maybe the rip the band aid off and eat all the dead cap this year works and comes into fruition in 2026 but we are really banking on being able to develop A LOT of young talent all at once this year. Think it's just a clever way for him to save $ this year destroying our salary cap. He better hope we don't drop off for 3 years straight (2024) because 9er fans will be pissed at him once again.

They didn't actually do anything differently besides hire a good coach, and they were so backed into a corner the coach had enough leverage to gain power that no previous coach had. It was a good thing for us but there's also been issues that may become magnified now.

The 49ers lead the league in dead money. Time to cut it back.

The DM doesn't matter that was on the books no matter what, they just lumped it all up now. That has no real effect on being able to sign players if you pay them large signing bonuses and backload deals. They can open up like $23M in space my restructuring Warner and giving Kittle and extension. That means giving out real cash though.

Those DM hits are just as much about moving off players as Jed wanting his actual cash back that was in escrow to pay those players.
which FA that we didn't over pay has you acting like TK, cohn, DrL, SanDiego and all the other followers and trolls?

I agree on some level, but I think the right plan is you invest in free agency to supplement a team on the rise… at least in general. We hit on a couple of young defensive players and rebuild the core of our defense, our offense shows adjustment and growth from last year… including Purdy… and then we can add to the team in free agency in the next year or two.

I'd honestly make more moves than they have so far… or at least seriously explore them (like trading Aiyuk and CMC).

There has been no supplement via FA though lol. They don't even have enough bodies to field a full defensive line rotation. They have maybe 2 startable LBers. They haven't fixed a single hole that was a problem before they cut bait with players. They haven't signed a single startable player.

Jed isn't investing this off season. That much is clear. Lynch and half a dozen nfl insiders and beat writers have used the term "financial constraints" when talking about this team. Jed went out a just bought a freaking soccer team. His money went elsewhere this yr.

There are consequences to players getting overpaid especially when they s**t the bed.

LOL. They deserve it. They disgrace this team and the fans.

lol oh man those were some good times on the zone. So many Baalke lovers.
People in here have lost their damn minds.

Just because they aren't dumping a bunch of money on free agents that would likely bust doesn't mean they are giving up.

Im okay with the approach, save for the Floyd cut and not signing Greenlaw.

We have needs at backup QB, LG, C, and swing tackle, FB, CB, FS, LB, DE, DT, NT, and maybe a pure edge rushing type.

If we were incredibly lucky in the draft and Kyle has open competition, we could have 3 to 6 rookie starters.

There isn't anyone on the team in our areas of need good enough to definitively hold off a talented rookie. Just need to avoid the smh picks (overdrafting by two rounds or taking a QB).

Pure speculation by Cohn. No proof. Just, "hey look at this shiny thing I found in my butt!" 49ers are in the process of shedding older players who are injury prone or no longer productive or both. Every 49er fan saw it last season. Deebo was slow. He wasn't breaking tackles. Greenlaw didn't even play. Even the blocking by Juice fell off.

Kyle and John have dumped unproductive players before. No, it was not some soccer team. It was more of the guys they sent packing were not performing. The NFL is a performance business. If you don't perform, you're out. The 49ers won six games last season. SIX. Not enough. Time for a change. Because, if you do not perform, the next guy sent packing is the coach and the GM.

So you think TK and both Matt's are lying too? They said part of this is because Jed doesn't want to spend cash. This isn't about the cap clearly with all the DM they're eating.

this is about MONEY and instead of investing back into this team this off season, he bought a soccer team

Why should he? The results have been meh. Remember the conversation 2 years ago about Hargrave? Jed told Kyle and John sign an impactful free agent. They did that. Got a top 5 free agent. How did it work out? Spent big dollars in free agency last year too. More spending to come with Brock's contract.

I think the reset is extreme, but they have chosen to go scorched Earth and get down to the most essential guys only. Fair enough. They are banking on the draft apparently. They have enough capital to really Jumpstart the 2.0 version of this team. Now am I optimistic it will happen quickly? No. We had one good draft in the last three after four that ranged from good to great. Hopefully we are more like what we were in the beginning when we would draft an All Pro on a yearly basis.

We will know if we are on track if we can get out of the 4th round without making a wtf pick.

It's come to this again. They are flying banners over the stadium again. The Yorks really are something else.
He was not the one wasting first round draft picks and drafting busts. We have drafted Aiyuk and Bosa who have been hits in the first round since Lynch became the GM. McGlinchey was below average and everyone else sucked. I don't blame York for this debacle. It is all on Lynch and Shanahan for sucking at reloading through the draft and over spending on older Free Agents who never lived up to their contracts.
